WWA Championship Wrestling  9/15 TV
Sep 16th, 2007, 2:46am

WWA Championship Wrestling
WRTV ch. 6 Studio
Indianapolis, IN
Taped live- Airing at 12 Noon throughout Indiana and on tape delay in Ohio and Upstate New York

Show opens with montage of various wrestlers in action with Bill Conti's "Gonna fly now" playing in the background.

Camera pans the crowd and multiple National flags and settlrs on Bob Jenkins and Gene Okerlund at the announce podium.

Jenkins:  Fans, welcome to another exciting hour of WWA Championship Wrestling.  Today we begin the tournament for the WWA Television Title.  Also, I will interview Johnny Powers and Otto Wanz.  We also have added a new segment that will be called "Commissioner's Corner."  In this segment, Commissioner Les Thatcher will bring us the latest news from our Board of Directors.  Les will also fill us in on any disciplinary actions that may need to be addressed as well as negotiations with other AWA members.  Now, Gene, what do you have for us today?

Okerlund:  Bob, today I will attempt to interview Gerhardt Kaiser and his men.  I also have a special announcement from the AWA World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Bockwinkel, who will be here tomorrow afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse.   And what a card that will be, but more on that later.  At this time, I would like to introduce to you our Commissioner, Les Thatcher for his weekly segment "Commissioner's Corner"...Mr. Thatcher, It's good to have you here today!

Thatcher:  Thanks, Gene.  Fans, what a busy week we have had!  The Board of Directors and I have worked overtime to bring many new wrestlers into the area.  In the last seven days alone, we have signed:
The most famous Japanese wrestler in the World today, Antonio Inoki.  One of the most recognizable Mexican wrestlers, Mil Mascaras and his brothers-Dos Caras & El Sicodelico.  The Austrian Champion Otto Wanz.  The brutal German-Killer Karl Krupp.  Not to mention Bobby Colt and The Black Cat.  With the addition of these great names, the WWA will surely be seen as the home of many International Superstars.  We look forward to working closely with these men.
Also, today begins the tournament for the WWA Television Title.  Last week it was announced that the first two matches would be held on TV today, but we will actually have all FOUR first round matches on our show today.  You will see:  Johnny Powers vs Bobby Colt, Kenji Shibuya vs El Sicodelico, Dos Caras vs Geto Mongol, and Killer Karl Krupp vs Big Red!!!  Each match will be one fall with a 15 minute time limit.  If we run out of time before the final match ends, we will show it at the beginning of next week's show.
Finally, on a sad note, we have had to say so long to the Crusher.  In a controversial decision, Crusher lost the third fall of last Sunday's show at Market Square Arena.  We understand that after his loss to the Love Brothers, Crusher packed his bags and left for Southwestern Championship Wrestling.  We wish him well there.  Speaking of last Sunday, all I can say is, what a great show we saw.  We hope that you were there, but if not, please come out and see WWA action any time it is in your area.  Now, when we return, we will see our first tournament match.

Johnny Powers  vs  Kenji Shibuya w/Gen. George Cannon

Fantastic first round match as Powers wins by Disqualification when Kengo Kimura attacks Powers as he was applying the Powerlock.

Jenkins:  Johnny, what a hard fought match!

Powers:  Thanks, Bob.  I don't know who that guy was, but he sure did a number on my neck.  Wow!, that's gonna be sore in the morning!  I'm just glad I got the win.  I really want to be the first WWA Television Champion.   With these great fans behind me, I believe I can do it!

Jenkins:  Fans, our second tournament match is in the ring.

MATCH #2

Bobby Colt  vs  El Sicodelico

Sicodelico looked fantastic throughout, but fell to Colt after a low blow and a pull of the tights.

Okerlund:  Fans, earlier this week, I had the chance to sit down and discuss tomorrow's AWA World Title match with Nick Bockwinkel.  I asked him who he was concerned with defending the title against and here is his response.

Bockwinkel:  Concern?  Mr. Okerlund, I am the American Wrestling Association Heavyweight Champion of the World.  No wrestler concerns me.  My stock portfolio concerns me.  The renovations on my Beverly Hills Estate concerns me.  The condition of my private air-craft concerns me.  The temperature of my caviar and champagne while traveling concerns me.  But, Mr. Okerlund, Gene, wrestlers do not concern me.  Especially those in the WWA.  You see, I have never been challenged with WWA contenders.  I have rarely broken a sweat.  To me, it doesn't matter who wins the battle royal.  I should enter the battle royal myself and defeat all the challengers in one match.  That way, I wouldn't have to come back to this sorry excuse of a promotion.  If you don't have any more questions, my butler will show you to the door.  Shoo-shoo.

Okerlund:  Puhlease.  Let's go to the ring!

MATCH #3

Dos Caras  vs  Geto Mongol

Geto turns his back on his smaller foe and is rolled up for the pin in less than a minute!

Jenkins:  Wow! Fans, we'll be back!

Jenkins:  We'll be back with a word from Gerhardt Kaiser following this commercial

Okerlund:  Fans, I am joined by Gerhardt Kaiser, The von Brauners and Killer Karl Krupp.  Gentlemen, what is your purpose for being here in the WWA?

Kaiser:  Vee are heere to prove to dees infidel minions who's country is zee best.  Zee German atalete is superior to ahl dee udder country's ataletes.  Vee are stronger.  Vee are faster.  Vee are more intelligent dan ahl udder ataletes.  Vee vill dominate dee double-U double-U A.  Zee von Brauners vill vin  zee tag team titles.  Krupp vill vin zee TV title.  und vun of zem vill vin zee double-U double-U A Title.  Zat ees vie vee are here.  Good-bye.

The WWA is looking very good.

Could Powers get his revenge on Krupp from what happened in AGPW.  Looks like we'll have to wait and see.

Good solid wrestling action, and good set up for the House shows.

Very good show. I especially enjoyed Krupp v/s Reese and the promo by Kaiser.

Johnny Powers is going to be facing one mad Mongol at the Fieldhouse tomorrow. I would be surprised to see Geto do a number on the glamour boy.

I was surprised at the loss by El Sicodelico to Colt. Wonder what will come of it.

I do see Powers versus Krupp down the line for the WWA TV belt here.

All three masked brothers here in WWA. Did that ever happen in real life?

Great show. That roster is getting strong.
