DANNY JOHNSON VS. BULL POMPETTI
Two of the WWWF's hard luck cases meet in our opener tonight, neither man has a really stellar win-loss record, but that doesn't stop either man from going all out here. Johnson almost gets the win with a running clothesline, but Pompetti kicks out. The two battle almost to the curfew mark before Johnson pulls out the win with a Sunset Flip.
TONY ATLAS AND SD JONES VS. LOUIS CYR AND BUTCHER NOVA
Semi Final match to decide the #1 contender to the WWWF Tag Team Championship currently held by Chief Jay Strongbow and Carlos Colon. Mr. USA Tony Atlas is undefeated here in the WWWF and he and his partner SD Jones gave the NWA World Tag Team Champions all they could handle a couple of weeks ago in Philly. Cyr and Nova are two brawlers who like to fight and will beat up on anyone they can. This match turns into one heck of a brawl but SD and Atlas get the win and advance to the finals when SD hits Nova with the Special Delivery Running Splash in the corner and Atlas then catches the dazed Butcher with the Full Nelson drawing the submission
MOONDOG MAYNE WITH THE GRAND WIZARD VS. PAT BARRETT
Wizard leads the deranged Moondog to the ring, and Mayne has a wild look in his eyes and is howling at the top of his lungs. As soon as the bell rings he is all over Barrett battering him with clubbing blows before pinning him after a Power Slam. Mayne howled in the middle of the ring for several minutes after the match before finally heading to the back again.
JERRY AND JOHNNY VALIANT VS. IVAN PUTSKI AND ANTONIO PARISI
This is the other semi final match in the tournament to decide the #1 contenders to the WWWF Tag Team Championship, the winner of this match will go on to face Tony Atlas and SD Jones later tonight. Johnny has held the WWWF Tag Titles before with he and Jerry's other brother Jimmy Valiant. Jerry is coming off a feud with Victor Rivera where both men entered being undefeated, and were unable to find a way to beat the other until Johnny made a surprise return to the WWWF and helped his brother get the win. Rivera has since left the WWWF, Parisi was supposed to team with long time partner Tony Marino in this match, but Marino suffered injuries at the hands of Nikolai Volkoff recently and Putski stepped in to help his friend. Polish Power controlled the match early, but the Valiants were able to cut the ring off and catch Parisi. Bruno Sammartino would be very proud of his cousin as Parisi hung in there longer then most people could, but even a comeback fueled by his fiery Italian temper wasn't enough to turn the tide, and the Valiants won the match after Jerry pinned Parisi.
WWWF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: SUPERSTAR GRAHAM (C) VS PAT PATTERSON WITH THE GRAND WIZARD
Graham is put for blood, no question about it at all, he wants revenge on Patterson, not only for the role he played last month in costing Graham the NWA World Title, but also for destroying the thing Graham has worked so hard to get, the WWWF Championship Belt. Patterson stalls to start complaining about everything from hair pulling to claiming Graham has too much “baby oil” on his body and Patterson can't grab ahold of him. Whenever Graham does get a good grip on his prey, Patterson just finds a way to make the ropes forcing a break. During a forced break bu referee Dick Kroll Patterson gets a thumb in Graham's eye and then grabs ahold of Graham using Graham's hair!!! Patterson then uses something to stab Graham's forehead !!! Kroll does not see the violation, but some ringside fans do and they are very unhappy. Patterson uses his object to stab Graham in the head several more times, drawing blood!!! Patterson finally lets the bloody Graham out of the corner, but doesn't let up as he quickly clips Graham's right knee,
Patterson has done his homework as Graham has injured that knee before. Patterson goes right to work, while he can be a weasel Patterson is one of the top wrestlers in the entire world and knows what to do to break down an opponents body part. Patterson works the knee over with unmerciful glee. Graham tries to fight back several times but Patterson simply wrenches on the knee some more, driving Graham down to the mat. After almost 10 minutes of non stop abuse to Graham's injured wheel, Patterson declares it is time to end it, and goes to lock in the Buddy Rogers Figure Four Leg Lock when Graham shocks Patterson reaches up and cradles him!!!!!!!!!

Patterson kicks out and is ticked off. Graham hobbles to his feet, and starts to trade punches with Patterson, until the challenger starts getting the short end of the stick and kicks The Superstar's bad knee, forcing the Champion to the ground. Patterson doesn't let up putting the boots to Graham before draping Graham's leg on the bottom rope and crashing all his weight down on it. A cover only gets two and Patterson drags the champion to the corner, where he applies a headlock and uses that forgien object to stab Graham's already bloody forehead. The referee is unable to see Patterson's use of the object, though now more fans have noticed it and are screaming for the referee to wake up. Patterson uses this trick several more times and it looks as if Patterson is using a FORK?!?!?!? Graham crashes to the mat and Patterson drops a knee across Graham's head and then goes for the cover.

PATTERSON KICKS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Patterson doesn't even take a moment as soon as he kicks out he is all over Graham again, clobbering him with punches to the head. Patterson covers but gets only two, Patterson quickly covers again but still only gets two. Patterson pulls Graham to his feet and executes a picture perfect vertical suplex. Patterson covers but only gets two again. Patterson is arguing with Kroll again giving Graham the opening he needs to get to his feet, with the aid of the ring ropes. Patterson sees Graham has gotten vertical and pushes his way past Kroll. Patterson tries to use a double ax handle on Graham, but Graham kicks Patterson in the gut with his good leg!!! Patterson doubles over and Graham starts to unload with punches. He may be not be able to move around well on the bad wheel but he can still pound the day lights out of Patterson. Graham has Patterson's bleached blonde hair snapping around. He grabs Patterson and sends him to the ropes and tries for a clothesline, but Patterson ducks and comes back with a Cross Body Block!!!!!!!!!! Patterson connects and as soon as the are on the mat Patterson holds on for a cover GRABBING A HAND FULL OF TIGHTS FOR GOOD MEASURE!!!!!!!!!

GRAHAM SOMEHOW KICKS OUT!!!!!!! Patterson yells “DAMNIT!!” But doesn't let up, he goes back to his original game plan and goes back to work on Graham's bad leg. Patterson wrenches the knee with no remorse before finally locking in the Figure Figure Leg Lock!!! Graham is in lots of pain and is quickly loosing lots of blood. Kroll is asking Graham if he wants to give it up, and keeps checking on the cut to see if Graham can continue. Graham starts to slowly fight back though and is inching closer, and closer to the ropes. Finally Graham somehow reaches the bottom rope an Kroll orders the break!!! Patterson hangs on till the last possible second before letting go.
Patterson doesn't abandon the leg though as he pulls the Champion to the middle of the ring and after unloading a barrage of kicks to Graham's bad knee, once again locks in the Figure Four, only this time there is no way Graham can reach the ropes. Kroll is right in Graham's face asking him if he will give, but Graham is refusing. The pain starts to get to Graham and his shoulders fall to the mat, Kroll makes the count

GRAHAM GETS HIS SHOULDERS OFF THE MAT!!!!!!! Patterson is really applying all the pressure he can, but Graham still refuses to give up. Kroll is also still watching the cut on Graham's forehead as blood is pouring out everywhere, all over the mat and all over Graham. The Superstar once again collapses to the mat, and Kroll goes to make the count!!

GRAHAM'S SHOULDERS ARE UP AT THE LAST MOMENT AGAIN!!!! Patterson is irate and yelling at Graham to give it up, Graham refuses and starts trying to reverse the Figure Four!!!! Graham has his arm in the air as he tries to turn it, but Patterson is fighting it. Graham almost gets it turned but Patterson is able to stop him. Grahams shoulders fall to the mat again, but this time he is up at one and is back to trying to turn the Figure Four!!!! Graham looks to have gotten some sort or rush as it looks like he may finally be able to turn it. Patterson is fighting with all he is worth, but he can't stop the Champion WHO REVERSES THE FIGURE FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kroll is now in Patterson's face asking him is he would like to give it up. Patterson is saying no, but is also screaming in pain. Patterson is able to turn the Figure Four back, but that makes the two combatants to roll into the ropes and Kroll has to break the hold. Both men are slow to their feet and the Champion is using the ropes to steady himself. Patterson rushes Graham, and Graham dips down and backdrops Patterson OVER THE TOP ROPE TO THE CONCRETE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!!! Graham collapses to the mat and Kroll begins his count of Patterson. He gets to seven before Patterson is on his feet. Patterson reaches into the ring and pulls Graham out of the ring to the floor with him. Patterson sticks his head into the ring to break the count. Patterson grabs the bloody Graham and tries to slam his head into the ringside barrier, but Graham blocks it and slams Patterson's head into the rail!!!! Graham grabs Patterson and does it again not once but thrice!!!!! Patterson is staggering around and Graham throws him back into the ring. Graham follows him back right before he is counted out. Graham is stalking Patterson who is trying to beg off. Graham backs Patterson into the corner and Patterson offers a handshake, which of course Graham doesn't take, Patterson tries for a cheap shot punch but Graham blocks it and rocks Patterson with a punch of his own before racking Patterson's eyes!!!!!!!! As Graham has shown in the past he isn't afraid to play as dirty as anyone else. Patterson is blinded as he stumbles out of the corner and Graham doesn't let up. Though the Champion is starts to unload on Patterson. The Challenger's head looks like a pinball as it gets bounced around, rocked by Graham's punches. Graham gets to confident and tries for a Body Slam, but his knee can't handle it and it gives way!!! Patterson falls on top of Graham and stays there covering the Champion!! Kroll counts

Graham uses the ropes to pull himself up and Patterson strikes, this time locking in a SLEEPER HOLD!!!!! He doesn't have it on long before Graham slams him back first into the turnbuckles, forcing Patterson to break the hold. Patterson quickly applies the hold again Graham tries fighting it, but he has lost allot of blood and quickly starts to fade. Kroll checks Graham's arm. It falls once, Kroll checks it again, and it falls a second time!!! Kroll checks the third time, but the arm doesn't fall!!! Patterson cinches in the hold tighter and Graham starts to fade again, Patterson gets Graham down to one knee!!! then down to both knees, and finally to the mat!!!!! Kroll checks Graham's arm again!!!

Graham fires Patterson off into the ropes and tries for a back drop, but Patterson leapfrogs him, Patterson rebounds with a clothesline, but Graham ducks it, then Patterson and Graham both go for clotheslines knocking both men down in the center of the ring!!!!!!!!!!! Both men are down and out, and Kroll starts his count!!!!!!!!

Both men are slow to move. They crawl to opposite sides of the ring and both use the ropes to get to their feet. Once to his feet, Patterson dips into his tights and pulls out a PAIR OF BRASS KNUX!!!!!! HOW MANY FORGIEN OBJECTS HAS PATTERSON BROUGHT TO THE RING WITH HIM????? Patterson holds the Knux close to his side as he creeps to Graham, but before he can blast the Champion, Graham surprise Patterson by catching him in the Bear Hug!!!!!!!!! Patterson knows if Graham can really tighten the hold in he is done for, so instead of hoping Graham's knee goes out Patterson blast Graham with the Knux in plain view of the referee!!!!!!!! Dick Kroll calls for the bell to DQ !!! Graham crashes to the mat. Kroll starts to yell at Patterson, Patterson simply kicks Kroll in the gut and throws him to the mat!!!! Patterson climbs onto Graham and starts to just unload on Graham with the Brass Knux!!!!
Help from the locker room starts to arrive as Antonio Parisi is the first to hit the ring, but Patterson just knocks his block off with a punch!! The crowd really comes alive however as the High Chief Peter Miavia hits the ring and tackles Patterson causing him to drop the Brass Knux!!! The two men are rolling around the ring brawling until the locker room empties and pulls them apart. The champion is bleeding profusely as Patterson and Maivia try to get at one another through a sea of bodies, fans this has turned into a war zone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
INTERMISSION
After intermission concluded it was announced that next month here in Madison Square Garden, as a result of what happened in the WWWF Heavyweight Title Match, Superstar Graham will once again meet Pat Patterson, but this time INSIDE A 15 FOOT HIGH STEEL CAGE!!!!!!!!!!
TONY GAREA VS BUD OSBOURNE
The man from New Zealand makes his long awaited return to a World Wide Wrestling Federation ring tonight and faces Bud Osbourne, who would like nothing more then to spoil Garea's return. However, the former two time WWWF Tag Team Champion shows he is just as much a threat as a single wrestler when he forces Bud Osbourne to submit to a Abdominal Stretch.
THE HIGH CHIEF PETER MAIVIA VS. BARON SCICLUNA
The High Chief has been on quite a roll since coming back to the WWWF to back up his good friend Superstar Graham. Miavia isn't his normal cheerful self and looks quite upset still over what has happened between Graham and Patterson earlier tonight. The Baron and Maivia have tied it up quite a few times, and are no strangers to each other. Maivia wrestlers a bit more aggressively then we are used to seeing, perhaps because of the earlier incident with Patterson. The Baron puts up a good fight, but Maivia is just too much for him and wins the match with a Samoan Drop.
NIKOLAI VOLKOFF WITH FRED BLASSIE VS . CARLOS COLON
Nikolai has been a bulldozer recently going through every wrestler put in front of him. Colon goes right for the Russian as soon as he finishes singing the Russian National Anthem. I do not believe a wrestling hold was used at all in this match as it turned into a street brawl. Both men through caution to the wind and fists to bone as they pounded on each other, but Nikolai proved to be too much for Colon winning the match after not one, but TWO Russian Back breakers. Colon had to be taken out of the ring by wrestlers, including his partner, Chief Jay Strongbow.
JERRY AND JOHNNY VALIANT VS TONY ATLAS AND SD JONES
Who ever wins this match will be declared the #1 contenders to the WWWF Tag Team Championship, and after what we just saw, they will have an extreme advantage over the champions as Colon looks to be in pretty bad shape. The match starts out slow, and both teams have already wrestled one match and are trying to feel the other one out and find a weakness they can exploit. The match swings back and forth with both teams coming close to pulling out the win until Johnny Valiant pins SD Jones, but does so with his feet on the ropes to get the win and become the #1 contenders to the tag titles.
CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW VS. SPIROS ARION WITH FRED BLASSIE
Strongbow is none to happy, he wants to get his hands on Volkoff for what he did to Colon, but will have to settle for Nikolai's stable mate the turncoat Spiros Arion. Strongbow lets his temper get the best of him and Arion takes control early and could have put Strongbow down for the count after a Gut Wrench Suplex, but the cocky Arion pulls Strongbow up right before the ref makes the final count. Arion toys with Strongbow for too long and the fiery Indian breaks into the War Dance and puts Arion away with the big Tomahawk Chop.
