WWC SAN JUAN STADIUM SHOW 9/25/77
Sep 25th, 2007, 8:52pm

WORLD WRESTLING COUNCIL
HIRAM BITHORN STADIUM
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
SEPTEMBER 25, 1977 7 PM
REFEREE: EL ATLETICO

All matches are sanctioned and governed by the National Wrestling Alliance.

--Puerto Rican national anthem

Match 1-

ALI BABA defeats PEDRO EL GRANDE when he lands a belly-to-back suplex for the pin.

Time: 8:25

Match 2-

PEPPER GOMEZ defeats TOSH TOGO by DQ

Gomez explodes early in this match. Togo starts with hidden chops to the throat. Gomez responds in kind and more. After a choke that Atletico actually has to force Gomez to break, Gomez starts to work on the ribs. An eye rake by Togo gives the former actor the advantage. He uses a surfboard to work on the ribs and back.

Both wrestlers tumble through the ropes and fall to the ground late in the match. Gomez recovers first and poles Togo. He rolls back in and out of the ring to stop the count. A body slam on the infield weakens Togo even more. Gomez rolls him in and climbs to the middle turnbuckle.

He tries for a double stomp to the gut and hits it. A blatant shot to the groin by Togo gets a bell call by Atletico. Togo throws salt in Gomez’s eyes. A stomach claw has to be broken up by security.

Time: 16:27

Match 3-

EL DIABLO MASCARAS w/ MARK MANSON defeats VICTOR RIVERA

Rivera is on his game early on in this match. He works on Mascaras’ right shoulder, hoping to weaken it and make the camel clutch less effective later. A fujiwara arm bar has Mascaras reaching for the ropes. Rivera ends up chasing Mascaras around the ring, where Manson takes him out with a clothesline.

While Atletico checks on Rivera and backs the heel duo away, Manson slips Mascaras a piece of metal. The metal goes into Mascaras’ mask. Most of the rest of the match is a bleeding Rivera trying to rally from head butts by Mascaras. A diving head butt from the top rope leads to the winning camel clutch by Mascaras. Dean Ho comes in to break it up when Manson and Mascaras refuse to do so after the bell.

Time: 20:54

Match 4-

THE INFERNOS/ J.C.DYKES defeat ANDRE THE GIANT/ EARL MAYNARD/ DORY DIXON

The Infernos trap Dixon in their corner early in the match. Each time a different Inferno or Dykes tags in, they taunt Andre or Maynard. They come in and Atletico puts them out. This allows the heels to punish Dixon. A standing drop kick to the chin of Dykes allows Dixon to tag in Maynard.

Maynard and Andre double team Dykes while Andre keeps The Infernos at bay. The Infernos do have some success against Maynard but the crowd erupts when Andre is tagged in. Andre gives Inferno I a series of head butts and goes in for the pin.

Maynard has Dykes in a standing hammerlock while Dixon has Inferno II in a chicken. Both men are on the turf. From the other side of the ring, comes a huge man in a mask. He is being led to the ring by a man some of the ringsiders say is Rock Hunter. Atletico is caught by a foot as Dykes tries to struggle.

The large man hits Andre in the back of the head with a big boot. Andre is pinned by Inferno I. The big man, along with the Infernos, hurt Dixon and Maynard and leave all three laying the ring. Hunter takes the mike and announces the carnage is brought to you by The Mighty Mammoth.

Time: 25:00

Match 5-

HURACAN CASTILLO/ KING TONGA defeat THE INVADERS.

This match is high intensity. Each team has every move exploding. A body slam by Tonga, followed by an elbow drop by Castillo, almost puts Invader III down for a quick pin. A belly-to-bally suplex by Invader I on Castillo returns the favor.

The match settles into The Invaders working on Tonga’s right knee. A fist drop to the knee by Invader III has the leg near useless. Tonga tags in Castillo. Castillo cleans house and the masked duo drops to the field to regroup. Castillo gets a running start and hits a plancha drive on the two men. He throws Invader III in the ring and hooks on a fisherman’s suplex. Invader I barely makes it back in to break up the pin.

The end of the match comes when Tonga and Invader I are the legal men. Castillo and Invader I are fighting it out on the infield. Tonga throws Invader III out of the ring. He goes out and hits a savate on Invader I as Castillo ducks. Invader I goes down hard and is pinned by Tonga after he is rolled back into the ring.

Match 6-

PUERTO RICAN HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
HERCULES AYALA defeats VICTOR JOVICA by DQ

Jovica meets Ayala in the aisle before the champion gets in the ring. He starts hitting Ayala with sting rights and lefts and runs him into the ring railing. Jovica then runs Ayala’s left knee into the ring steps. Jovica rolls Ayala into the ring and lets loose on the knee.

Despite some recoveries by Ayala, Jovica is able to lock on a spinning toe hold. Ayala is able to kick off Jovica and the former friend falls to the field. He tweaks his back but is able to get back in the ring. Jovica goes back for the toe hold but Ayala small packages him for a near three count.

Ayala hurts Jovica with the move. Ayala gets his second wind and goes after the back. A bow and arrow is clamped on for several minutes. Ayala releases the hold and Irish whips Jovica into the ropes. He clamps a bear hug on Jovica. Jovica struggles and, accidentally, hits Atletico in the eye. Jovica kicks Ayala low to break the hold.

The match ends up on the turf, where Jovica uses a camera cable to choke Ayala. He seems to loose it as ringsiders hear Jovica call out Monsoon and Colon. Atletico tries to get Jovica to release the cable but is kicked away. Atletico disqualifies Jovica and Jovica goes after Atletico. Ayala recovers and the two wrestlers fight all the way to the dressing room.

Time: 25:40

Match 7

NON-TITLE MATCH
CARLOS COLON/ DEAN HO defeat THE SAMOAN KINGS w/ MARK MANSON

Both teams are in the ring when Mark Manson takes the mike from the ring announcer. He tells the stadium crowd that he signed a contract that said this was to be a non-title match because Colon has not proved himself to him. Colon takes the contract and stuffs it in Manson’s mouth. Afi takes out Ho out of the ring, while Manson and Curtis double team Colon.

The tag champs work over the ribs of Colon. Both Afi and Curtis take flight from the middle turnbuckle and drive knees into the ribs. Curtis spits in the face of Ho. The Hawaiian is understandably hot and goes after The Kings. Atletico puts him into the corner and Colon is taken out even more. He manages to fight his way out of the corner and tag Ho.

Ho starts to work on the neck muscles of Afi. He uses a nerve hold to the upper left shoulder for several minutes. Ho tags in Colon, who scoops up Afi and hits a shoulder breaker. Afi gets his foot on the ropes at the last second. Colon drops several fists in the left knee of Afi. He snaps the leg off the ring apron. Colon clamps a figure four in Afi and all heck breaks loose.

The end of the match comes with Curtis having Ho in an airplane spin. Colon comes in and Afi tries a running clothesline to knock Colon out of the ring. The Puerto Rican sensation ducks and the High Chief goes sprawling. Colon then kicks Curtis in the chest and Ho rolls Curtis into a crucifix for the three count.
