Very intense match from the bell. Both men gain the advantage throughout until Stomper misses a shoulder tackle in the corner and connects with the ring post! After falling to the mat Youngblood comes off the top rope with a flying tomahawk chop to the head of Stomper for the pinfall!

Ricky Steamboat vs. Steve Strong
These two shake hands before the contest and then go at it after the bell rings! Alot of back and forth in this one until Strong catches Steamboat in the full nelson! Steamboat fights frantically to get out and finally makes it close to a corner and climbs up to the second turnbuckle and pushes off causing he and Strong both to go down! Steamboat is on top and Stong's shoulders are down for the 1,2,3!!

Tully Blanchard vs. Blackjack Mulligan
Great match from the get go! Blanchard proves he belongs with the big dogs as he holds his own in this one! Blanchard looks to be in control until Mulligan hits a flying elbow after hitting the ropes and then locks on the claw for the win!

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Mr. #1 Paul Jones
These two go at each other even before the bell! Flair gains control with some dirty tactics unseen by the referee and really takes it to Jones left leg! Finally, after locking on the figure four leglock Jones has no choice but to submit!

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Jay Youngblood
The newcomer really shows why he deserves to be in this tournament really taking it to Flair from the start. Youngblood goes for a cross body block but Flair ducks and Youngblood flies through the ropes to the floor! Flair goes outside and puts the boots to an injured Youngblood and posts him before climbing back into the ring. At the count of 8 a bloody Youngblood crawls into the ring and Flair helps him up to deliver a vertical suplex! After a knee to the head Flair locks on the figure four! After failing to escape Youngblood has no choice but to submit!
Winner: Ric Flair @19:01
.
.
Blackjack Mulligan vs. Ricky Steamboat
After shaking hands these two really go after each other. Steamboat tries to use his speed to gain the advantage. After stunning Blackjack with a dropkick Steamboat goes to the top rope and as Mulligan gets to his feet Steamboat comes off with a flying cross body block, but Blackjack catches him and power slams him all in one motion for the 1,2,3!!!
Winner: Blackjack Mulligan @16:34

10 Minute Intermission
.
.
Andre the Giant vs. The Masked Mammoth w/Rock Hunter
These two giants definitely don't like each other as this one is a brawl from the opening bell! After some back and forth brawling the action spills out to the floor where each man gets posted and as Andre is pounding on the Mammoth, Hunter hits him from behind with the ring bell! Referee Tommy Young calls for the bell but the fight continues! Andre is down and Hunter helps Mammoth to his feet as the two put the boots to a bloody Andre! They roll Andre into the ring where the Mammoth body slams the Giant!!! He then jumps on Andre's chest with both feet and then he and Hunter leave the ring as Andre receives medical treatment!
Winner: By DQ Andre the Giant @15:46

Finals
.
.
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Blackjack Mulligan
These two are certainly no strangers to each other as they start battling even before the bell! Flair gains the advantage after Mulligan misses a leg drop and starts working over Mulligan's right leg. Flair goes for the figure four but Mulligan grabs a small package.....1.......2.......Flair kicks out!!! Mulligan is up but favoring his right leg. He grabs Flair up and goes for a bodyslam but his leg buckles and Flair lands on top of him......1......2......2 1/2......Mulligan kicks out just in time!!! Flair is up slowly and drops a knee on Blackjack's head. He then goes for the figure four again and locks it on this time!! Mulligan is in alot of pain and fights it finally, making it to the ropes causing Flair to have to break the hold! Flair grabs Mulligan and helps him up and delivers several chops to his chest before whipping him into the ropes. Flair goes for a clothesline but Mulligan ducks and tries for a clothesline of his own but Flair ducks as well! Flair chop blocks Mulligans right leg from behind coming off the ropes and as Mulligan rolls over Flair's back, Flair hooks both legs....1......2......3!!!!!

Ah HAH!  I knew it!  As soon as Flair was announced as being in the tournament, I figured he'd walk away with all the marbles!

Congrats to the Nature Boy on winning the U.S. title.  This was a helluva card, Mulligan vs Blanchard and Flair vs Mulligan were the two top matches of the night, IMO.

Blackjack beats Blanchard and Steamboat to get to the finals and has a classic against Flair. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Flair getting the title is just so right.

Mighty Mammoth vs. Andre is a feud that seems to be building well. Can't remember Andre in this kind of running feud.

The Andersons looked great here. Nice showing by Candy and Cook.

With Strong and Youngblood here, the youth and experience balances so well in MACW.

Great and memorable card, Steve.
