WWWF CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 9/29/1977
Sep 30th, 2007, 12:29pm

Vince McMahon welcomes us to Championship Wrestling!!!!!

Vince:  Welcome to Championship Wrestling, bringing the action of the World Wide Wrestling Federation into your homes, I am Vince McMahon and we have an action packed show for you here today.  Making his return after a long absence, Bruno Sammarino's protege, Larry Zbyzsko will be here, The Paramount High Chief Peter Miavia will see action, we will talk to the man who was robbed by one Jesse Ventura, Chief Jay Strongbow will join us, and I am sure he has allot to say about Mr. Ventura as well as the WWWF Tag Team Champions, The Valiants. Be that as it may and nevertheless, when we return from this first commercial break, we will see a blockbuster tag team encounter stemming from what happened on last weeks program as Tony Garea and “Irish” Pat Barrett face two rough customers in Baron Mikel Scicluna and Butcher Nova in that very ring.

Vince: "The following television program requires participatory viewer discretion."

Joe McHugh is standing in the middle of the ring.

Joe McHugh: “ Welcome to another action-packed card of Championship Wrestling. The doctor in attendance at ringside, Dr. George Zaharian. The referees for this hour of wrestling, Dick Wohrle, and Dick Kroll.. And I'm your ring announcer, Joooooe McHuuuuuuuuugh.”

“Our opening contest is scheduled for one fall with a ten minute time limit.  Intro-ducing in the red corner., from The Isle of M-a-lt-a,..... weighing two hundred and sixty five pounds.....here is........B-A-RON M-I-KEL SCIC-LUN-A!!! His partner is from New-ark , New J-e-rsey, BUTCHER N-O-VA!!!

BARON MIKEL SCICLUNA AND BUTCHER NOVA VS. TONY GAREA AND “IRISH” PAT BARRETT

Garea starts for his team and Scicluna starts for his.

Garea and Scicluna lock up and Garea pushes Scicluna back in the ropes Referee Dick Kroll calls for the break. They lock up again and this time Scicluna is the one doing the pushing as he gets Garea up against the ropes. Kroll calls for a break and Scicluna acts like he is going to give us a clean one, but then tries to hit Garea,  Garea ducks out of the way and lays a few hard forearms in on Scicluna before whipping him into the ropes. Scicluna comes back and Garea tries for A Back Drop, but Scicluna leapfrogs him, Scicluna tries for a running clothesline but Garea ducks that and then catches Scicluna in a Drop Kick!!! Cover!!!

KICK OUT!!!   Both men up and Scicluna rushes Garea only to get hip tossed, Scicluna rushes him again and gets hip tossed a second time. Scicluna then jumps up and goes to lock up, but when he does he rakes Garea's eyes!!!!!  Garea is blinking trying to see and Scicluna whips him into the corner Butcher Nova is in. Scicluna begins to choke Garea until Kroll steps in, Kroll is to busy yelling at Scicluna to notice Nova is choking Garea with the tag rope!!!!!

Scicluna tags out to  Nova who slams Garea down on the mat and drops and elbow on him, but even that only gets a two count. Nova tags out to Scicluna and they whip Garea in the ropes and hit him with a double clothesline. Scicluna goes for the cover, but once again only gets a two count.

Scicluna pulls Garea to his feet and whips him into the ropes catching him with a Sleeper Hold!!!! Scicluna is holding on tight trying to put Garea out but Garea is fighting it and is able to twist his body just enough that he is able to send  Scicluna into the ropes and the two collide with shoulder tackles that send both men down to the mat and hard.  Garea slowly makes his way to Barrett and tags out at the same time Scicluna tags in Nova!!!!!

Pat comes in with fists of furry and Nova has no defense for it!!!  Barrett  hits a vertical suplex!!!! Pat pulls Nova to his feet and tries to whip him in the ropes, Nova reverses it though and tries for a back drop, but Pat is able to adjust and catches Nova with a Sunset Flip!!!!!!! Scicluna tries to interfere but Garea stops him and the referee counts

Vince McMahon: Both Tony Garea and Pat Barrett have tasted tag team gold in the past, and now as a team they seem to be coming together quite well, if I was the current WWWF Tag Team Champions, Johnny and Jerry Valiant, I would be keeping a close eye on these two!!!  When we come back The Paramount High Chief Peter Miavia will be in action!

This bring Strongbow to The Valiants who he says stole something from him, something he plans on getting back, but they couldn't do it with out help. This is where Strongbow's temper begins to flare up. --Good show.  With all the great shows you've had recently, this one seemed            a bit flat.  That sometimes happens when the bar has been set so high.
--Good win for Garea/Barrett
--Big win for Maivia
--Zbyszko looked really good
--Upcoming shows look to be very good

The Garea/ Barrett tag match along with the Maivia/ Arakawa match were not you run-of-the-mill TV squashes. Nice write-ups.

The promo with Strongbow may have long reaching implications.

Great return by Zybysko.

Some great WWWF cards coming up.
