WORLD WRESTLING COUNCIL
JUAN RAMON LOUBRIEL STADIUM
BAYAMON, PUERTO RICO
SEPTEMBER 30, 1977 7 PM
REFEREE: EL ARTACHE

All matches are sanctioned and governed by the National Wrestling Alliance.

--Puerto Rican national anthem

Match 1-

GEORGE GAISER defeats ZOLTAN THE GREAT with a vertical suplex after three football tackles.

Time: 12:29

Match 2-

THE INFERNOS w/ J.C. DYKES defeat TOSH TOGO/ SUPER MEDICO.

This “Battle of the Bullies” is rough and ready from the start. All four wrestlers are poled and are bleeding from some part of their body. The end of the match comes as Inferno I is battling Super Medico on the ball field. Inferno II is taking on Togo in the ring. Dykes is reeling from salt having been thrown in his eyes by Togo.

Mr. Justice and Pepper Gomez come out to ringside and stand where Togo can see them. Togo runs over to the ropes and begins to yell at his recent adversaries. Justice and Gomez do nothing, but Inferno II manages to slip behind Togo and school boys him for the win. Togo and Medico are furious with the faces, who smile as they go to the back.

Time: 15:49

Match 3-

VICTOR JOVICA/ EL DIABLO MASCARAS w/ MARK MANSON defeat HERCULES AYALA/ VICTOR RIVERA.

A piece of metal given to Mascaras by Manson serves as the catalyst in this match. It first comes into play as Jovica jabs it into Ayala’s throat, while Mascaras occupies Artache. The metal finds its way into Mascaras’ mask and he opens up Rivera’s forehead after several head butts.

Ayala and Rivera rally when Ayala reverses an Irish whip and sends Jovica into Mascaras. Mascaras falls into the ring railing on the field. Artache rules it a tag and the faces see an opening. They work on the back of Mascaras, isolating him in the corner.

Ayala traps Mascaras in a bear hug. The masked demon almost gives up, barely saved by Jovica coming in to break the hold.

Manson helps Jovica by taking the piece of metal and clubbing Ayala in the back of the head on a criss cross. Mascaras blocks off Rivera, as Jovica hooks a fisherman’s suplex to pin the Puerto Rican champion.

Time: 20:25

Match 4-

GIL HAYES defeats DORY DIXON

Dixon’s high flying moves confound Hayes early on in this match. Hayes manages to take matters into his own hands on a referee break. Dixon and Hayes are tied up in the corner. Artache steps in between them and Hayes puts a well placed low knee lift to good use. A leg sweep on a reeling Dixon allows Hayes to go to town.

Hayes starts to work on Dixon’s right knee. A fist drop by Hayes from the middle rope hurts Dixon’s knee badly. In desperation, Dixon grabs hold of Hayes’ trunks and pulls the Blond Bomber through the ropes. Dixon recovers and drops a double axe handle to the back of Hayes while he is on the field.

The end of the contest comes when Dixon tries one high risk move too many. After a series of body slams, Dixon goes to the top rope. His knee gives way and Dixon falls awkwardly to the mat. Hayes locks on the Indian Death Lock for the win.

Time: 24:26

Match 5-

THE INVADERS defeat HURACAN CASTILLO/ KING TONGA

A chop block by Invader III on the left knee of King Tonga takes out the strength of the Castillo/ Tonga team. The Invaders take Tonga to school and wrap the knee around two ring posts. Tonga gives a Herculean effort to get out of the corner, helped by stiff lefts and rights. Castillo gets the hot tag, clearing the ring with a series of hip tosses. A flying body block sends Invader III to the infield dirt.

Invader III tweaks his knee on the fall. Castillo goes down, gets the masked man and rolls him back into the ring. After several minutes of punishment, Castillo slaps on a figure four. Invader III struggles to the ropes.

The end of the match comes when King Tonga tries to throw his savate kick on Invader I. The weakened left knee gives way on the plant. Invader I catches Tonga with a heart punch. Tonga goes down and is easily pinned. Invader III catches Castillo with a loaded flying head butt.

Match 6-

DEAN HO defeats KING CURTIS w/ MARK MANSON by DQ.

Manson starts to jaw with Ho during the ring instructions. Ho blocks the trash talk from the manager, choosing to look Curtis straight in the eyes. Curtis says something to Ho as he turns to his corner. Ho turns livid and runs Curtis’s head into the turnbuckle. Manson protests, but is instructed to go to the field by Artache.

A bow and arrow hold and a surfboard are the moves of choice for Ho. Manson tries to grab the legs of Ho, but gets a face full of foot for his trouble. Ho slaps on his full nelson several times but Manson helps his charge break the hold each time. Curtis jabs Ho in the throat with a karate chop while Manson complains to Artache about his officiating. Curtis throws Ho to the floor.

Curtis joins Manson in the argument with the ref. High Chief Afi, who is in the next match, comes out and hits Ho in the shoulder with a two by four. Curtis brings Ho into the ring and gives him a shoulder breaker. A big splash by Curtis has Ho absolutely out.

To rub it in, Curtis clamps on a full nelson. Ho is out but Curtis will not break. Artache calls for the bell, giving the match to Ho. Carlos Colon comes out with a chair to break it up.

Time: 23:19

Match 7-

CARLOS COLON defeats HIGH CHIEF AFI w/ MARK MANSON.

As the referee helps Ho to the back, Colon tries his best to back the Manson Mafia off. He is hit in the back of the head by Manson and busted open. By the time Artache gets back to the ring and calls for the bell, the damage is done.

Afi works on the back of Colon. Every time Colon manages to get to his feet, one of the Manson Mafia members takes a short cut. Colon manages to hit a standing dropkick out of nowhere. A high knee lift and a bulldog put Afi down. Artache instructs the ringside security to remove Manson and Curtis to the dressing room. The match becomes a one-on-one contest.

Afi does recover enough to look like he will have a win. He drives Colon’s head into the turnbuckle. Colon goes down. Afi goes to the top rope for a Samoan Airlines splash. Colon was playing possum. He moves out of the way at the last second. Colon gets to his feet and lifts Afi into a brain buster for the win.
