“Championship Wrestling from Florida”
Sportatorium
Tampa, FL
Announcer-Gordon Solie
Taped-10/3/77
Airs-10/6/77

Gordon Solie opens the show.

Solie, “Fans, this will be a "Red Letter Day" for "Championship Wrestling from Florida". We have a  TV Title match on tap. The Assassin will challenge Bob Armstrong, the Champion. The Great Bolo has pulled a power play and had Mr. Official I removed as the referee. Frenchy Bernard, a very competent official, will referee the match. We will talk to some newcomers to the state of Florida and we will have an update on Eddie Graham. Let’s go to the ring and see Kevin Sullivan in action.

Match #1
Kevin Sullivan def. Chin Lee (5:35) w/rollup

Solie is with Steve Rackman.

Solie, “This man is Steve Rackman. He is one of the legends in Australian wrestling. Mr. Rackman, welcome to Florida.”

Rackman, “I am ‘Crusher’ Steve Rackman and I did dominate wrestling in Australia for 20 years. I’ve come to America to take over American wrestling. I hate what I see here. Weak Americans who wouldn’t last five minutes in the Australian bush. The sheilas here look like the jumbucks you see in Australia. For you idiotic Americans, a ‘sheila’ is a woman and a ‘jumbuck’ is a sheep. In America, those two are about the same thing.”

Solie, “Alright Mr. Rackman, we understand that you have no respect for America and the American people. I know you have some people to introduce.”

Rackman, “Don’t rush me Solie. I do have three people to introduce. I have brought these men with me, and together, we will take over wrestling in this run-down, mosquito infested state. First, one of the greatest athletes to ever come from Germany, the master of the German claw, Zeigfried Stanke.”

Stanke comes out and joins Rackman.

Solie, “Mr. Stanke is a well-known wrestler, he is quite a signing for you.”

Rackman, “Solie, I don’t need your praise. You just hold the microphone. These next two men have been in Florida before. In fact, they held the tag team titles here many times. They are two of the finest wrestlers the Commonwealth of Australia has ever produced, ‘The Australians’, Ron Miller and Larry O’Dea.”

The Australians join Rackman and Stanke.

Solie, “I remember Mr. Miller and Mr. O’Dea. They are fine tag team wrestlers. Mr. Rackman, this is quite a group.”

Rackman, “In Australia, we would say they are ‘Bonzer’. They are great, and soon, we will have gold.”

Solie, “Let’s see Mr. Stanke in the ring.”

Match #2
Zeigfried Stanke w/Steve Rackman def. Juan Sebastian (4:59) w/German claw

Solie is with Jack Brisco.

Solie, “Mr. Brisco, you have been successfully defending your Florida Title against all comers and you have also been hot on the trail of the World Champion. You have come close, but Wahoo McDaniel remains the World Champion.”

Brisco, "When I went after Wahoo, I knew this wouldn’t be easy. He will fight to the last drop of blood to hold onto that title. I like the competition and now I get another shot at him.”

Solie, “That’s right. The big announcement is that on Friday, November 23, the day after Thanksgiving, you meet Wahoo McDaniel at Miami Marine Stadium. I know it will be a great match.”

Brisco, “I’m going to stay after Wahoo and I think I can take the belt from him.”

Match #3
Non-Title Match
Jack Brisco (Florida Champion) def. Coloso Colosetti (6:42) w/figure four

Solie is with Jerry Brisco.

Solie, “We go from one Brisco brother to the other. With me is the World’s Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Jerry Brisco. Jerry welcome back.”

Brisco, “Thank you Gordon. I’ve traveling the country and the world defending this belt. It’s been exciting and I feel very good about holding onto the title.”

Solie, “I know that you consider Florida your home and you like defending the belt here. You have two big defenses coming up, one this week at Madison Square Garden in New York and then get the chance to defend the title, in Florida, on Halloween night in Orlando.”

Brisco, “Yes I do. I’m excited to defend the belt in Florida.”

Solie, “The fans will be in for a treat that night. You will take on the international star, Tatsumi Fujinami in both of those matches. He is one of the best Japan had to offer.”

Brisco, “He is a great wrestler. I’ll have the home field advantage, but it won’t be easy.”

Solie, “October 31, at the Eddie Graham Sports Stadium, Jerry Brisco defends the World Jr. Heavyweight Title against Tatsumi Fujinami. Get your tickets early.”

Match #4
Non-Title Match
Jerry Brisco (World Jr. Heavyweight Champion) def. Jack Armstrong (5:00) w/figure four

Solie is with Mike Graham.

Solie, “Mike, normally I’d be asking you about you and Steve Keirn chasing the Manchurians and the tag team belts, but that’s not what we are here to talk about. How is your father?”

Graham, “My dad got hurt bad, but Gordon, you know how tough he is. He had several stitches and we were afraid that he had some type of head injury, but he’s fine. As a matter of fact, he will be here next week, and Spoiler, you better keep your eyes open, because he wants a big piece of you. Gordon, I’m going to end this interview. I don’t know if I can keep my composure.”

Graham leaves the area.

Solie, “You can’t blame Mike Graham. The big news is Eddie Graham will be here next week.”

Match #5
Florida TV Championship
Bob Armstrong (Champion) vs. the Assassin w/Great Bolo

Frenchy Bernard is knocked unconscious. Mr. Official I comes to the ring. The Assassin argues with him. When this is happening, Armstrong rolls up the Assassin and the masked man counts the fall. The program ends with Mr. Official I raising Armstrong’s hand.
Winner-Bob Armstrong (6:49)

Boy, The Assassin is going to come up swinging. Good win by Armstrong

Rackman has a great stable. Miller and O'Dea will be a tough team.

Thanksgiving may come a day late for Brisco.

I am loving the use of Colosetti here.

Great show.
