Roger Kent welcomes us to another great action packed hour of AWA Midwest All-Star Wrestling.
Kent mentions that last week, Dick Slater won the Midwest TV Title from Dick Steinborn, and we will have a special interview with the new TV Champion.
Also, Percival Pringle III promises that he’s found the ultimate man to team with Blackjack Lanza this week, so who is that man, guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Plus a big Tag Team TV Main Event the High Flyers taking on the Masked team of the Mighty Yankees.
So let’s go to the ring for the opening contest.

”Dr. D” David Schultz (With Professor Boris Malenko) defeats
Terry Yorkston following a Pile Driver.

David Schultz and Professor Malenko joins Al DeRusha at ringside.
Schultz mentions that very soon, he’s going to be angry cause he doesn’t have any gold. He doesn’t care if it’s single or tag team, but very soon he will be wearing some gold.
Professor Malenko ends the interview by telling the fans that he will soon have 2 types of gold in his stable. .

We return to the studio and we see Percival Pringle III and Blackjack Lanza make their way to the broadcast desk.
Roger Kent asks Pringle if he’s found the perfect partner for Lanza, in which Pringles responds that he’s found the a great wrestler, and he would really compliment Lanza very well.
Lanza looks at Pringle and tells him that this is his last chance. Lanza proceeds to the ring and out comes his partner, Larry Lane.

Dino Bravo & Gino Brito defeats
Blackjack Lanza & Larry Lane, when Bravo got Lane to submit to the Abdominal Stretch.
Following the match, Lanza went crazy once again in the ring, totally demolishing Larry Lane, and leaving him out cold with a Pile Driver.
Lanza leaves the ring and gets into the face of Pringle blaming him for Lanza leaving the Midwest area and for all the trouble he’s been having the past month. Therefore, next week Lanza as already found a man, that he know he can trust and knows that he will be a man that will also leave a trail of destruction with him.
With those words, Lanza slaps Pringle across the face and storms off. .

We return to the Studio, and AL DeRusha is joined in the ring by the AWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Roddy Piper.
Piper mentions that he’s finaly in the flagship promotion of the AWA, and he’s happy to be here, and to face some of the top stars of the AWA. He continues by thanking the fans for their support since winning the title, and he’s soon going to be giving the fans something to cheer for, while defending the title in the Midwest area. .

[VTR: Dick Slater inside a dressing room holding the TV Title] Slater mentions that last week, defeating Steinborn was a great accomplishment for him, and that now he knows that he will have several guys gunning for him and the title.
He mentions that he promises to defend this title with pride and be a fighting a champion for all the great fans of the Midwest area. [End VTR] .

The Mighty Yankees, when Brunzell pinned Yankee # 2, following a double drop kick.

Roger Kent welcomes the current Midwest Heavyweight Champion Pedro Morales to the Broadcast desk
Kent leads us into footage of the attack last week from the Masked Superstar .

[VTR: Midwest All-Star Wrestling 09/22/77] Following the match, Superstar refused to release the Cobra Clutch on Oates, which forced Morales charged the ring, and begin beating on Superstar, forcing Superstar to the outside. Morales turns his attention to Malenko in the corner, and never sees Superstar sneak back in the ring and apply the Cobra Clutch on Morales.
The Superstar has Morales in big trouble, till Dino Bravo, Greg Gagne and Jim Brunzell come flying from the dressing room to make the save.

Morales mentions that last week, he got distracted by Malenko in the ring and forgot about Superstar.
He mentions that if the Masked Superstar thinks for one second that he’s scared of him, he’s gotta another coming. Morales gives a warning to Superstar to beware and be ready for a fight, cause this Puerto Rican is ready to get even.
Kent sends us to the ring for the final match up. .
