** In late-August, manager/wrestler Big Bad John returned to Calgary, and immediately made his intentions known...he will put together a stable of wrestlers that will help him take over, not only Stampede, but the ENTIRE NWA! John didn't waste any time, he confronted North American Champion Keith Franks and asked him to join his group...but to the surprise of John, and everyone in attendance, Franks turned him down! The young Champion said that he won the North American Title on his own, and doesn't need a manager's help. Throughout the month of September, John added some heavy hitters to his "Army", names like The Destroyer and the Mormon Giant Don Leo Jonathan! Big Bad John, upset at having his offer turned down by Keith Franks, vowed revenge on Franks. During a match on television in early October, The Destroyer and Jonathan attacked Franks, but another youngster, Jake Roberts hit the ring to make the save! The four men have met in tag team and singles matches all across Alberta and Saskatchewan. ** After being attacked by the Islanders (Afa and Sika) during an International Tag Team Title defence on August 11th, Bruce and Keith Hart jumped into a wild, bloody feud with the Samoan savages. The two teams traded the International Tag Team Titles several times, but when the smoke cleared, the titles were back with the Hart brothers. They put an end to the feud, once and for all, by defeating Afa and Sika in a Loser Leaves Town match in early October.
