WWWF House Shows 9/30 - 10/5 1977
Oct 3rd, 2007, 1:29pm

WORLD WIDE WRESTLING FEDERATION LIVE ACTION!!!!
Manchester, New Hampshire
September, 30 1977

LARRY ZBYZSKO VS. MR. X

Another test for the recently returned Zbyzsko as he faces off against the masked Mr. X. Larry has his way with Mr. X from bell to bell finally putting him away with an Inside Cradle

TONY GAREA AND “IRISH” PAT BARRETT VS. BULL POMPETTI AND BUD OSBOURNE

Garea and Barrett are coming off a big win on Television recently and are really meshing well together. Both have held the WWWF Tag Titles with other partners before and they may be looking to make a run at the titles together. Crisp tag team work between Garea and Barrett leads to a victory after Barrett puts Bud away with a Sunset Flip.

DOMINIC DENUCCI VS. BUTCHER NOVA
Denucci's first match back in the WWWF and its not an easy one. Nova is a rough customer and he batters DeNucci. But Dominic fiery Italian temper fires up and DeNucci gives as good as he gets, if not better. DeNucci ends up making him return a successful one pinning Nova after a Running Knee Lift.

  WWWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
JOHNNY AND JERRY VALIANT © VS. MR. USA TONY ATLAS AND SD JONES

The Champions do allot of stalling to start. Finally SD Jones and Tony Atlas get fed up and pull the two into the ring and thats when the action explodes. Atlas and Jones have control early, using power moves to bounce The Valiants around the ring, but The Valiants use some skulduggery to trap SD Jones in the ring, cut it in half and start sing quick tags in and out, and double team moves to keep Jones down and out. The Valiants however aren't able to put Jones away and when Jerry tries to whip Jones into the corner, Jones somehow reverses it and hits a desperation Special Delivery Splash!! Jones  is able to follow up with a pin, but is able to make the tag out to Atlas at the same time Jerry tags out to Johnny. Tony is a house of fire and batters back both Valiants. Tony prepares to lock the Full Nelson on Johnny when Jerry pulls his brother out of the ring, the two then high tail it to the locker room, getting themselves counted out, thus loosing the match, but keeping the Tag Team Titles.

INTERMISSION

It is announced after the intermission that when the WWWF returns to Manchester on Sunday November 4th, Mr. USA Tony Atlas and SD Jones will once again challenge the Valiants for the WWWF Tag Team Championship, only this time, if The Valiants are counted out THEY WILL LOOSE THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

GEORGE “THE ANIMAL” STEELE VS. PETE SANCHEZ
The Animal lives up to his moniker here as he mauls Sanchez defeating him with a Flying Hammerlock

“HIGH CHIEF” PETER MIAVIA AND CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW VS. MOONDOG MAYNE AND PAT PATTERSON
This is just a non stop uncontrollable war from bell to bell. None of these four men have any love loss for each other and several times all four men end up in the ring, things really go to hell when Strongbow, who had been trapped in the ring and worked over by both Patterson and Mayne, broke into his War Dance come back on Patterson and Mayne jumped into the ring to put a stop to it. That was all Miavia could handle and he jumped into the ring as well and total bedlam broke out. Miavia and Mayne fell out of the ring and continued to fight, while referee Dick Kroll stuck his head out of the ring to yell at them to break it up, he did not see Pat Patterson blast Strongbow with a Pair of Brass Knuckles. When he turned around all he saw was a limp Patterson on top off an out cold Strongbow. Kroll counted the pinfall and gave the win to Mayne and Patterson.

NON TITLE MATCH: SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM VS. BARON MIKEL SCICLUNA
The man from the Isle of Malta faces the WWWF Champion in non title action here tonight. Scicluna  breaks every rule in the book to try and put away Graham, but the Superstar is in rare form tonight, and forces Scicluna to submit to a Bear Hug.

WORLD WIDE WRESTLING FEDERATION LIVE ACTION!!!!
Boston Garden, Boston, MA
October, 1 1977

“IRISH” PAT BARRETT VS. DOHERTY
Barrett has been making waves as a tag wrestler with Tony Garea as of late, but chooses to go at it alone here tonight. He draws the very capable Pete Dougherty , Barrett takes the momentum he has been gaining with Garea and uses it here putting Dougherty down with a Sunset Flip.

LARRY ZBYSZKO VS. FRANKIE WILLIAMS

Larry Zbyzsko faces off with Frankie Williams, Larry really controls this match from bell to bell, winning the match via pinfall after a Vertical Suplex.

“KANSAS CITY BOMBER” ROGER KIRBY VS. DANNY JOHNSON
Johnson gives Kirby all he can handle and looks like he may pull out the upset here, but Johnson falls short of the mark and ends up getting pinned by The Bomber after a Leg Drop off the middle rope.

MR. USA TONY ATLAS AND SD JONES VS. BARON MIKEL SCICLUNA AND BUTCHER NOVA
Scicluna and Nova attack before the bell rings for the match, throwing Atlas out of the ring and double team SD Jones. Nova and Scicluna control the match early on, until Atlas makes a blind tag and comes in like a bull in a china shop.   Atlas uses his amazing strength to toss Scicluna around the ring before getting into a fist fight with Nova. Atlas finally gets the upper hand on Nova and throws him into the corner before tagging out to SD Jones. Atlas whips Jones into the same corner Nova is in, giving some extra humph to the Special Delivery Splash. SD Jones goes for the pin after the splash, Scicluna starts to get into the ring to break it up, but then decides against it, giving Jones and Atlas the win.

WWWF CHAMPIONSHIP: SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM © VS. MOONDOG MAYNE
Mayne isn't like the other challengers Graham has had to his title, he is more unpredictable then Brody ever was and has a mean streak like no other. Graham isn't sure how to approach this maniac, but he quickly finds out when you are in the ring with The Moondog, you are fighting for your life. Graham and Mayne spill each others blood and pound the snot out of each other. Mayne has Graham in trouble a couple of times, but instead of pinning Graham he chooses to continue the punishment. A bloody Graham is able to pull out the win after Mayne tries to charge Graham in the corner and Graham moves at the last minute. Mayne crashes chest first into the corner and then Graham rolls him up from behind for the win. Graham doesn't get to celebrate however as the Mad Moondog decides he wants more of the Champions blood and attacks Graham with the Dog Bone he brought to the ring. Mayne would have continued hitting Graham with the giant bone if Miavia, Putski and Strongbow hadn't come to the rescue.

INTERMISSION
During Intermission it was announced that when the WWWF returns to Boston Garden on November 5th, Superstar Billy Graham will once again defend the title against Moondog Mayne, but this time in a No DQ Dog Pound Match!!!!

DOMINIC DENUCCI VS. MR. X
Denucci defeats the masked Mr. X at around the five minute mark when he reverses a hip toss into a backslide

GORILLA MONSOON  VS. NIKOLAI VOLKOFF
Monsoon stands in the path of the Russian Bulldozer once again. Monsoon gives as good as he gets as he and Nikolai battle it out, but Volkoff once again proves to be too much for Monsoon and ends up with a hard fought victory after a Russian Backbreaker.

“POLISH POWER” IVAN PUTSKI VS. GEORGE “THE ANIMAL” STEELE
Look up Bar Room Brawl in a dictionary, and you will find a picture from this match.

CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW, TONY GAREA, AND  “HIGH CHIEF” PETER MIAVIA VS. PAT PATTERSON, AND WWWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE VALIANTS
For over thirty minutes these six men battled it out in the squared circle. Patterson and The Valiants broke every rule in the book, and soon Strongbow and Miavia were doing the same. At the 45 minute mark, the Valiants and Patterson thought they had things going their way when Tony Garea who had been trapped in the ring for a good 12 minutes surprised Johnny Valiant when he reversed a vertical suplex attempt, executing a  vertical suplex of his own.Garea then gets the tag out to Chief Jay Strongbow who lights up Johnny Valiant and pins him for the victory and perhaps some revenge.

WORLD WIDE WRESTLING FEDERATION LIVE ACTION!!!!
Worchester, MA
October, 2 1977

DANNY JOHNSON VS. PETE SANCHEZ
Danny Johnson has come oh so close on many occasions to getting another mark in the win column, he has had very limited success here in the World Wide Wrestling Federation, but he finds a way to get his hand raised here pinning Sanchez after a Running kick to the head.

BATTLE ROYAL FOR A SHOT AT THE WWWF TITLE IN THE MAIN EVENT: DOMINIC DENUCCI,  “PLAYBOY” GARY FULTON, “KANSAS CITY BOMBER” ROGER KIRBY ,  TONY GAREA,  THE WWWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE VALIANTS, SD JONES, “POLISH POWER” IVAN PUTSKI, SPIROS ARION, GEORGE “THE ANIMAL” STEELE, MR. USA TONY ATLAS, CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW, “IRISH” PAT BARRETT, BUTCHER NOVA, BARON SCICLUNA
As soon as the bell ring the ring comes to life with enemies going after each other, and the first two people eliminated comes as a shock to many as Ivan Putski and George Steele attack each other and both end up going over the top rope to the floor. They continue to fight until officials pull them to the back. The injustice here is while all the referees are trying to break up Steele and Putski, they don't see that Roger Kirby is eliminated by Tony Atlas. Kirby notices no one is watching and quickly rolls back into the ring! Following that here are the order of elimination:
Gary Fulton by Dominic Denucci
Denucci by Spiros Arion
Butcher Nova by Tony Atlas
Baron Scicluna by Pat Barrett
Pat Barrett by Jerry Valiant
SD Jones by Spiros Arion
Spiros Arion by Chief Jay Strongbow
Chief Jay Strongbow by Johnny and Jerry Valiant
Johnny Valiant by Tony Garea
Pat Barrett by Jerry Valiant
Thus leaving Jerry Valiant and Tony Atlas in the ring along with Roger Kirby, who has been staying out of the action. Atlas and Jerry are doing everything they can to eliminate each other when Kirby rushes up behind them and dumps them both out of the ring!!!! Roger Kirby has stolen a shot at the WWWF Title here tonight!!!!!!!!!!

IVAN PUTSKI VS. GEORGE STEELE
Steele and Putski were the first two eliminated in the Battle Royal when they attacked each other and they pick up right where they left off, just laying into each other. Referee Dick Kroll tries to pull the two apart several times, but is just tossed aside. Finally the battle spills to the outside, and Dick Kroll has no choice but to count both men out.  Neither man registers the sound of the bell and continue to fight all the way back to the locker room.

TONY GAREA, “IRISH” PAT BARRETT AND TONY ATLAS VS. WWWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE VALIANTS AND SPIROS ARION

Garea and Barrett have formed a spectacular tag team here recently, and they have been looking for a shot at the Tag Titles, while Tony Atlas and his partner SD Jones have had their share of problems with the Valiants. The exciting six man contest sees the momentum change hands several times before Tony Garea gets the win for him team by forcing Johnny Valiant to submit to a Abdominal Stretch. Arion and Jerry Valiant tried to break the hold up as soon as it was applied but Atlas and Barrett stopped them. Johnny had no choice but to give in!!

INTERMISSION
During the intermission it is announced that next month when the WWWF returns to Worchester, on November 6th, Tony Garea and “Irish” Pat Barrett will challenge the WWWF Tag Team Champions The Valiants for the titles and POLISH POWER Ivan Putski will battle George “The Animal” Steele in a Lumberjack Match!!!!

DOMINIC DENUCCI VS. “PLAYBOY” GARY FULTON
Denucci and Fulton have a good mat based wrestling match to start before Fulton looses his temper and starts to use his fists. Fulton backs Denucci into the corner and lays into him with those famous forearm uppercuts of his. However, Denucci is not someone easily taken down and he ends up rallying and winning after leapfrogging Fulton and then catching him with a Cross Body Block

CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW VS. BARON SCICLUNA

Scicluna and Strongbow have faced each other many times before, Strongbow starts out fast and furious, but comes screeching to a halt when Scicluna puts two thumbs in his eyes. Scicluna slows the pace to a crawl as he methodically beats on Strongbow, but Strongbow reaches deep down and finds a way to make the come back, and after breaking into a War Dance he clobbers Scicluna over the head with a Big Chop and then pins him for a victory!

SD JONES VS. BUTCHER NOVA

Match doesn;t last 2 minutes. Nova rushes SD Jones as soon as the bell rings and SD backdrops him to the mat,  as soon as Nova is on his feet SD peppers him with forearms shots, backing him into the corner. SD whips Nova hard into the opposite corner then follows up with the Special Delivery Splash!!! Jones quickly covers Nova for the win!

WWWF CHAMPIONSHIP: SUPERSTAR GRAHAM © VS. “KANSAS CITY BOMBER” ROGER KIRBY

The fans are all over Kirby for stealing this title shot and Graham is well aware of it. Kirby struts around in his long robe . Graham turns around after the introduction to hand something to the ring girl when Kirby tries to attack him from behind.  Graham has been around the block a time or two and so he sees it coming and rocks Kirby with a hard right hand to the chin!!! Kirby still has his robe on as Graham unloads like a heavyweight boxer with hard left  and right jabs to the jaw!! Kirby is scrambling to get out of the ring and Graham grabs the robe to keep ahold of him, so Kirby takes the robe off leaving it in the ring with Graham. Kirby stands on the outside as Graham shows the robe off to the fans. Graham then RIPS THE ROBE APART!!!!!!!!
Kirby looses it and hits the ring, he rushes Graham, but Graham is ready for him and sends him flying into the air with a HIGH backdrop!!!! Graham throws what remains of the robe into the crowd and goes after Kirby,  what follows is several minutes of Graham pounding on Kirby, and Kirby looking for a way to get off this ride. Graham dominates Kirby before forcing him to give up to the Bear Hug. Just goes to show you, when you cheat or take short cuts, sooner or later it will catch up to you and you probably won't like the consequences!!!

WORLD WIDE WRESTLING FEDERATION LIVE ACTION!!!!
North Attlelboro, MA
October, 4 1977

DOMINIC DENUCCI VS. PETE DOHERTY
Denucci continues his winning ways facing Pete Doherty here tonight as Dominic puts the Duke of Dorchester away when he reverses a waist lock and rolls Doherty up for the pin fall.

TONY GAREA AND “IRISH” PAT BARRETT VS. MR. X AND BULL POMPETTI

Garea and Barrett have made quite a team as of late and the roll keeps on going as they defeat the tag team of Bull Pompetti and Mr. X when Barrett pins the masked man with a Sunset Flip.

CHIEF JAY STRONGBOW VS. BUTCHER NOVA
An action packed battle between the Butcher and the Indian. Both men let it all hang out as they battle tooth and nail, but Strongbow gets the W after a Big Tomahawk Chop!!!

WWWF CHAMPION SUPERSTAR GRAHAM AND HIGH CHIEF PETER MIAVIA VS. MOONDOG MAYNE AND GEORGE “THE ANIMAL” STEELE
KATIE BAR THE DOOR!!!!!!!! All four men are out for blood and they rip right into each other, its like having four wild beasts in the ring instead of four professional wrestlers. The referee looses control of this one in a hurry and there is no turning back, all four men keep jumping into the ring to fight, and Dick Kroll can't get them to follow the rules. Soon Mayne has his bone and Miavia has a chair and its total chaos!!! Kroll calls for the bell and then quickly gets the heck out of dodge before he is caught in the crossfire!!!!! The match is ruled a Double DQ but neither team cares as they continue to just beat the hell out of each other with anything they can find. The locker room empties to try and put a stop to this!!!

INTERMISSION
After the Intermission it is announced that when the WWWF returns to North Attlelboro on November 9th we will see WWWF Champion Superstar Graham once again team with “High Chief” Peter Miavia to face Moondog Mayne and George “The Animal” Steele, only next month the match will be contested under TEXAS TORNADO RULES!!!!!!!

LARRY ZBYSZKO VS. DAVEY O'HANNON
Zbyszko and O'Hannon trade holds to start, and we end up getting treated to a great mat classic. Larry ends up with a submission victory when he catches O'Hannon with a step over toe hold and O'Hannon has to submit.

GORILLA MONSOON VS. NIKOLAI VOLKOFF
Volkoff sings the Russian National Anthem before the match bringing the ire of the crowd. To the shock of everyone, Volkoff seems to have his way with Monsoon dominating him before pinning him. Volkoff goes to sing the Russian National Anthem again after the match, but is stopped by Ivan Putski.

IVAN PUTSKI VS. SPIROS ARION
Putski helps get Monsoon out of the ring and then grabs the microphone. He says that as soon as he finishes up with Volkoff's tag team partner Arion, he is going to shut Volkoff down. Arion hits the ring and the two men start fighting. Arion puts up a heck of a fight, but falls to the Polish Hammer!!!

WORLD WIDE WRESTLING FEDERATION LIVE ACTION!!!!
Providence, RI
October, 5 1977

DOMINIC DENUCCI VS. GOLDEN TERROR I
Denucci once again shows his ability to get the win here as he faces the Golden Terror and defeats him when he thwarts a backdrop attempt by the masked man and turns it into a Small Package.

TONY GAREA AND “IRISH” PAT BARRETT VS. PAT PATTERSON AND MOONDOG MAYNE
This match quite possibly stole the show as both tag teams put it all on the line. The battle went back and forth until Patterson pinned Barrett.

HIGH CHIEF PETER MIAVIA VS. WWWF TAG TEAM CHAMPION JOHNNY VALIANT

Johnny Valiant is the brawler of the Valiant brothers, and Miavia has been known to get involved in a donnybrook or two every now and then, so when this turns into a street brawl, no on is surprised. Miavia picks up the win in this hard hitting fight after a Samoan Drop.

WWWF CHAMPIONSHIP:  SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM (c) VS. WWWF TAG TEAM CHAMPION JERRY VALIANT

Jerry comes into this match unpinned and unsubmitted in singles competition, he has already claimed the Tag Team titles with his brother, plus a little help from one Jesse Ventura, and is hoping to gain some more gold tonight by defeating Graham.  Valiant proves it is no fluke that he has remained undefeated as he goes toe to toe with Graham, never looking out classed in terms of wrestling ability. Be that as it may, as we approach the 20 minute mark Graham has Jerry reeling and is about to lock on the Bear Hug when Johnny Valiant hits the ring to rescue his brother. The referee calls for the bell as the tag team champions double team The Superstar. That is until Peter Miavia makes the save for his best friend. Graham and Miavia then clear the ring of the Tag Champs, Graham wins this match by Disqualification, but it is safe to say Graham and Miavia aren't done with The Valiants!!

INTERMISSION
After the Intermission it is announced that when the WWWF returns to Providence on November 10th, WWWF Champion Superstar Graham will team with High Chief Peter Miavia to challenge the WWWF Tag Team Champions The Valiants for the titles!!!!!!!

LARRY ZBYSZKO VS. FRANKIE WILLIAMS
Zbyszko makes short work of Williams pinning him after a Shoulder Breaker

IVAN PUTSKI VS. BARON MIKEL SCICLUNA
Putski  has looked really strong since coming back to the WWWF and tonight is no different. Scicluna gives him some trouble, but in the end Putski gets another win with the Polish Hammer.

GORILLA MONSOON VS. SPIROS ARION
Monsoon and the Turncoat Spiros Arion have meet many times in this ring, but no matter how many times they face off, they never seem to be done with the other. Arion has Monsoon in trouble but can't seal the deal, and Monsoon ends up getting the win after a comeback and an Airplane Spin

These are some awesome cards. Really enjoyed Graham vs. The Moondog, and Graham & Maivia vs. Moondog & Steele.

Kirby winning the Battle Royal was a shocker but proves anything can happen.

Volkoff is a FORCE, can't believe he destroyed Gorilla like that!

Glad to see Arion still trying to earn his spot back near the top.

I'm happy to see the WWWF running regular house shows again, these were great shows!

I particularly enjoyed the Battle Royal, and Kirby's subsequent title shot, that was unexpected, but interesting.

My favourite card was probably the Oct. 5th show in Providence, and I'm REALLY looking forward to the next show in Providence, to see Graham team up with Maivia to face the Valiants for the titles, that's gonna be a classic!

Fantastic cards here.  This is what makes WWWF a must read.  Liked the unpredictability and unusual match-ups.  So much talent here.  Great work.

I love all the different match ups that you have involving The Valiants. Taking on Maivia, Strongbow, Jones, Garea, and the rest show how they are fighting champions.

Like the way you have interwoven Patterson, Mayne, and others in challenging Graham.

The house shows coming up for the WWWF are great to see.

Nice job.
