Armory Ft. Lauderdale, FL 10/7/77 Opening Match, one fall, 20 minutes Chin Lee vs. Beauregard The muscular Beauregard is very sharp. Lee uses martial arts, but Beauregard clamps on the full Nelson and Lee submits. Winner-Beauregard (12:49) Second Match, one fall, 20 minutes Jack Armstrong vs. Coloso Colosetti Armstrong jumps Colosetti before the bell. He works over the Argentinean. Colosetti is able to rally. He works over Armstrong and wins with the Argentinean backbreaker. Winner-Coloso Colosetti (14:51) Third Match, one fall, 20 minutes John “Wolfman” Smith vs. Louisiana Assassin This is a fast paced match between two underrated wrestlers. Both men have chances, but the Assassin wins with a handful of tights. Winner-Louisiana Assassin (13:26) Fourth Match, one fall, 20 minutes Nelson Royal w/Great Bolo vs. Pat McGinnis Royal takes on the newcomer from Ireland. McGinnis is very skilled. He holds his own with the former World Jr. Heavyweight Champion. Royal and Bolo become frustrated. Royal goes to the illegal tactics. He hits the bulldog for the win. Winner-Nelson Royal (15:31) Fifth Match, one fall, 30 minutes Kevin Sullivan vs. Jimmy Garvin w/Great Bolo These two youngsters have developed a good rivalry. Garvin puts the bad mouth on Sullivan before the bell. The bell rings and they begin to match holds and counter holds. Bolo shouts instructions from ringside. Sullivan begins to take over and it looks like he may win. He gets several two counts and Garvin takes to the floor to confer with Bolo. He returns and the match continues. Sullivan gains the upper hand and clamps on a sleeper. Nelson Royal hits the ring and he and Garvin work over Kevin. They leave him in a heap in the ring. Winner-Kevin Sullivan (15:51) Disqualification Semi-Final, one fall, 60 minutes The Australians w/Steve Rackman vs. Red Bastein and Ric Drasin The Australians have been very successful The team of Bastein and Drasin have had several good matches with Rackman’s team. The bell rings and it’s O’Dea and Drasin in the ring. The youngster from California looks very good. He overpowers Larry and slaps on an armbar. Bastein tags in and the veteran continues to work over the arm. O’Dea is able to tag in Ron Miller. He goes to work with rights and lefts. Bastein retaliates and we have a slugfest. Drasin tags in and the tide begins to turn. The Australians trap in the corner and work him over. O’Dea boomerangs Drasin into Miller for a backdrop and the match is over. Winners-The Australians (21:41) Main Event, one fall, 15 minutes Florida TV Championship Bob Armstrong (Champion) vs. Alexis Smirnoff The big man from Stalingrad takes on the TV Champion. Mr. Official I is the referee. He will call it down the middle. Smirnoff goes to work and the man from Marietta, GA is in trouble. Smirnoff slams Bob’s head into the turnbuckle. He whips Armstrong into the opposite corner and runs in. Armstrong moves and Smirnoff this the turnbuckles. Armstrong goes to work. The big Russian is in trouble. Smirnoff makes a comeback, but Armstrong is a man possessed. He traps Smirnoff in the sleeper and he retains the TV Title. Winner-Bob Armstrong (13:01)
