Steve Stack and Paul Boesch open up this week’s broadcast by showing clips of the end of last week’s program where Gary Hart has his monster Masa Saito attack Chief Wahoo McDaniel during the 6-man tag team match and brutally assault him. They wanted to start the show this week by bringing out Gary Hart and his men, Mr. Fuji and Masa Saito, so Hart could explain just why they did what they did last week. Hart says it’s very simple and they shouldn’t even have to ask. Everyone knows that the possession of NWA World Heavyweight Championship is how you control professional wrestling and so Gary has set out to take possession of the belt. Hart has sent “Mr. Torture” to get the belt and last week’s attack was a way to get Wahoo’s attention and embarrass the man in front of all of his beloved fans. Gary Hart closes by saying know we will see if “Sqawahoo” has enough guts to put the belt on the line against the most destructive force in wrestling today, “Mr. Torture” Masa Saito. Before we go to the ring, Stack and Boesch run down the card, which includes Gino Hernandez in singles action, Johnny Weaver and Rufus R. Jones in tag team action, a 7-Minute Challenge with Mick McManus, and in the main event the #1 contenders tag team match as The Super Destroyers face Paul Orndorff & Bobby Eaton with no time limit.

-1- Western States Heavyweight Champion Gino Hernandez (w/ Bobby Davis) takes on Doug Sommers in a non-title match to open our broadcast this afternoon. Sommers has quite a future ahead of him and he gives the cocky double champion some fits, but he can’t  put Gorgeous Gino down for the count. Hernandez hits a big dropkick late in the match and then goes up top and lands the big flying elbow smash. Gino Hernandez pins Doug Sommers by simply putting his foot across his chest, but that’s all it takes to get the three count after such a devastating finisher. (7:01)

Paul Boesch interviews Bobby Davis, Gino Hernandez, and a jubilant Robert Fuller after the match and Fuller gloats that he pinned Dory Funk Jr. last week and thus Funk has no choice but to grant him a championship match on October 26. Boesch notes that it was indeed Dory Funk Jr. that DEMANDED that a title match be signed for 10/26, but Robert Fuller says that’s hogwash and says Dory was shamed into it after being proven a loser in front of his hometown people last week. At this point, Dick Murdoch comes out once again and says he’s out here again this week to ask Gino Hernandez to be a man and put the Western States Heavyweight Title on the line against him. Hernandez smiles and says he’s got a big Tag Team Title defense coming up on 10/26 and so he has to focus on that, so he doesn’t have time to worry about a loser like Dick Murdoch. Gino says the answer is still no and that Dick Murdoch has to win a lot more matches before he’ll even consider it. Murdoch stews as Hernandez, Fuller, and Davis laugh as they walk off.

-2- In this week’s 7-Minute Challenge, John Ringer attempts to last against Mick McManus. Ringer is a tough competitor and he doesn’t McManus to have much leeway early on fights him back. This seems to fluster McManus and he has trouble keeping Ringer down and the time is ticking away. Ringer is looking good here, but makes the mistake of going up to the top rope, which McManus spots and he hits the ropes. Mick shakes the ropes, Ringer falls down onto the steel part of the turnbuckle, and is then suplexed back into the ring and pinned in just under 6 minutes. Ringer put up a good fight, but he couldn’t last seven minutes against the bully of South London. (5:48)

Steve Stack and Paul Boesch are interrupted by a furious NWA World Heavyweight Champion Chief Wahoo McDaniel, who says he was embarrassed in front of his people last week and he will not stand for it. McDaniel says he knows that scum like Gary Hart operate by sneaking around attacking people from behind so he should have known better, but he let himself be vulnerable. Wahoo says if it’s a title match that Saito wants, he’ll defend the belt any time, any place against Mr. Torture. He says the big Japanese warrior better be ready for the bloodiest battle of life because in order to take the belt from “this proud Indian, you’ll have to damn near kill first!” Wahoo is fired up and says he’ll never allow himself to be attacked from behind again and warns Saito and Hart that what goes around comes around.

-3- Bruiser Bob Leuck & Tarzan Tyler team up to take on two very popular wrestlers tonight, Johnny Weaver & “The King of Wrestling” Rufus R. Jones in our next contest. Tyler and Leuck are tough individuals and use their brawling tactics and quick tags to rough up Johnny Weaver for a portion of the match. Weaver rallies after Rufus leads the crowd in a “Let’s Go Johnny” chant and makes the tag to the King of Wrestling, who comes in and decks both opponents. Jones slams Tyler and Leuck and even comes off the ropes with a double elbow drop on both men. He then winds up and finishes off Bob Leuck with the big headbutt and pins him to win the match. After the match, Johnny Weaver and Rufus R. Jones sign autographs for the fans around ringside. (8:11)

Before the main event, Paul Boesch interviews “The King of Wrestling” Rufus R. Jones, who says he’s so happy to be here in Amarillo representing Black people and all people. Rufus says he loves all his people around the world and thanks them for always being in his corner and supporting him when he’s in the ring. He says he’s going to bring some gold back home to them and fight some of the nasty dudes that are here in Amarillo. Boesch then lets Rufus know that they got a telegram from an old friend of Rufus’, Porkchop Cash, and he wanted Rufus to know he’s going to paying a special trip to the studio to see him next week. Rufus is very excited and says he can’t wait to see his old friend “Bobby” once again.

-4- In our main event that also happens to be for the #1 contendership for Western States Tag Team Championship, The Super Destroyers square off with Bobby Eaton & Paul Orndorff in a match that will have no time limit. Should we have to go off the air before it ends, the match will continue and we will bring you the conclusion next week here on Championship Wrestling from Amarillo. These two teams wrestled to a draw two weeks ago on this program in a tremendous match and this one is no different. It’s clear that SD II has become the dominant force on the Super Destroyers team and he has really become a monster in the ring. Orndorff and Eaton cannot seem to keep him down, but the SDs cannot put Eaton and Orndorff away either. The conclusion of the match sees the original Super Destroyer go for the Full Nelson on Paul Orndorff, but Paul drops down and turns it into a victory roll for a surprise pin to get three count and win the match! That makes Bobby Eaton and Paul Orndorff the #1 Contenders to the Western States Team Championships, held by Gino Hernandez and Jerry Brisco! Eaton and Orndorff celebrate in the ring and the fans are going nuts, while SD II is furious on the outside and he shoves the original Super Destoyer and walks off ahead of him. Bobby Davis and Gino Hernandez walk out with smug smiles on their faces and watch the celebration as it goes on.

As we close today’s show, Steve Stack and Paul Boesch run down what we’ve seen today and announce that next week, Dory Funk Jr. will defend the International Heavyweight Championship here on TV against Gino Hernandez in what should be a blockbuster main event! Plus, we’ll have another of Mick Manus’ 7-Minute Challenges and much, much more! We’ll see you next week for more Championship Wrestling From Amarillo!

Could Hernandez hold three belts? That will be thrilling to see!

Saito vs. Wahoo will fill any arena and will be worth all those Texas dollars.

Surely somebody in Texas can shut McManus' mouth.

Great win by Orndorff and Eaton.

Amarillo is a hotbed of NWA action.

Good things going on here.  Like the seven minute challenge.  Great tag matches.  Hope Rufus gets a serious push here.  Next week should be great.
