JAFFA MOSQUE
Altoona, PA
10/11/77
Bell Time: 7:00

MATCH #1

Geto Mongol  vs  Burrhead Jones

A complete dominant performance by Geto.  He pins Jones following a head-butt.

WINNER:  GETO MONGOL @4:54

MATCH #2

Wilhelm Ruska  vs  Chief White Owl

Wilhelm puts on a clinic in judo, defeating the Indian with an armbar submission.

WINNER:  WILHELM RUSKA @6:02

MATCH #3

Big Red  vs  Killer Karl Krupp w/Gerhardt Kaiser

Red worked over the German in the first few minutes, but could not put him away.  Krupp rallies and wins with the German claw.

WINNER:  KILLER KARL KRUPP @9:45

MATCH #4

Pak Song, Kenji Shibuya, & Kengo Kimura w/Gen. George Cannon
                                        vs
Mil Mascaras, Antonio Inoki, & El Sicodelico

Very good match.  The heroes jelled well and really excited the crowd with their unorthodox moves.  The Asians were brutal and looked to have Sicodelico on the verge of defeat when Mascaras made the save.  Sicodelico made the tag and Mascaras cleaned house.  Eventually all six battlers paired up in the ring.  In the end, Mascaras pinned Kimura following a double flying tackle.

WINNERS:  MIL MASCARAS, ANTONIO INOKI, & EL SICODELICO @19:47

INTERMISSION

MATCH #5

WWA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

Dos Caras  vs  Robbie Ellis

Ellis tried an aggressive approach early and took the battle to Caras.  Ellis used every hold in his arsenal to ground the Champion.  Headlocks, drop toe-holds, Boston crabs, rear chinlocks, armbars, and leg grapevines all took their toll on Caras.  Bravely, Dos fires back.  Returning to his feet, Caras hit Ellis with a barrage of high-flying maneuvers.  Ellis could not withstand the attack and was pinned following a high-cross-bodyblock.

WINNER:  DOS CARAS @14:01

MATCH #6

WWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

The Von Brauners w/Gerhardt Kaiser  vs  Luis Martinez & Carlos Rocha

The Latin favorites really looked sharp against the Berlin bullies.  They used their edge in quickness to keep the Germans off-balance.  Luis looked fantastic and did not show any signs of his knee injury.  The Latinos used a mix of ground and aerial tactics to gain several near falls.  Rocha nailed Karl with a beautiful dropkick, tagged in Martinez and got a shot in on Kurt.  Matinez locked on the Mexican stump puller and Karl was in serious trouble.  Kurt broke it up with a vicious kick to Luis' head.  Karl tagged Kurt and the rest of the match was all for the Champions.  In the end, the Von Brauners retained their titles following a double clothesline to Rocha.

WINNERS:  THE VON BRAUNERS @22:22

MATCH #7

WWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

Otto Wanz  vs  Big Daddy

Continuing his quest to meet all challenges, Wanz battled furiously with the huge Brit. after an opening handshake.  Daddy's size gives the Austrian a fit as Wanz is used to suplexing his opponents out of their boots.  Daddy consentrated his attack on the knees of the Champion.  Lots of leg holds had Wanz in trouble.  With Wanz down and seemingly out, Big Daddy went for his patented splash.  Otto tried, but couldn't avoid the impact.  The referee counted and came within a hair of slapping the mat for a third time when Wanz draped his leg over the bottom rope.  Otto was still in trouble, however.  Big Daddy lifted Wanz to his feet and hoisted the big Austrian up for a powerslam.  The rafters shook from the thud!  Once again the referee attempted a three count only to have Wanz barely raise his shoulder.  Big Daddy dragged Wanz to the corner and climbed, ever-so-slowly, to the top rope.  Otto seized the opportunity and kicked the ropes, causing the Brit to crush his little buddies on the top turnbuckle.  Summoning all the strength he had, Wanz wedged Big Daddy onto his shoulders and splattered the challenger to the canvas.  Three seconds later, Wanz had successfully defended his crown.  After recovering, Daddy raised the Champion's hand in a show of respect and friendship.

WINNER:  OTTO WANZ @27:59

What a man! Big Daddy raises the hand of Wanz in a show of sportsmanship. Love the face vs. face match-ups in WWA.

The tag match was good. The Von Brauners continue to roll.

Loved the six man. Really would have liked the three of Inoki, Mascaras, and Sicodelico together.

Caras versus Ellis would have been entertaining to see. Liking what i'm seeing from Ellis.

Ruska continues to impress.

Great stuff.

the six-man was best.
the ellis vs caras was a good one as well.
the main event was odd, considering the combatants, in hindsight...
