CWF, Taped 10/17/77
Oct 16th, 2007, 4:58pm

"Championship Wrestling From Florida"
Sportatorium
Tampa, FL
Announcer-Gordon Solie
Taped-10/17/77
Airs-10/20/77

Gordon Solie opens the show.

Solie, “What a show we have today. We have a title change, we will hear from Eddie Graham and we have news about the TV Title and Mr. Official I. First let's bring out the new Southern Champion, the Spoiler.”

The Spoiler and Sir Oliver Humperdink come out.

Solie, “Mr. Spoiler, Mr. Humperdink, let's look at some highlights from Tampa.”

We see the Spoiler defeat Austin Idol for the Southern Title.

Humperdink, “Gordon, not that I'm one to say, 'I told you so', but I told you so. The Spoiler dominated that bleached blond fool and even Dusty Rhodes, as the referee, couldn't stop us.”

Solie, “Well, we do not know if that was Dusty Rhodes, but that is neither here nor there. Spoiler, you were very impressive. What is next for you?”

Spoiler, “I will defend this title against anyone, at any time...”

Eddie Graham comes out. He still has a bandage on his forehead.

Solie, “Now, now, let's not have any trouble.”

Graham, “Oh Gordon, it's no trouble. Spoiler, you beat me up pretty bad. I've been around a long time and that was a butt-kicking. You said you'd wrestle anyone, any time, then get in the ring with me!”

Humperdink, “Graham, we almost killed you. Why do you want to do it again?”

Graham, “Let's cut to the chase. I want a shot at the Southern Title. It's been a while since I've worn a belt and I'd like to do it again. On October 31, in Orlando, we have a show scheduled. How about putting that belt on the line?”

Humperdink, “At the 'Orlando Sports Complex', your home away from home? How can we get a fair match?”

Graham, “I've told you before. When I step in the ring, I'm not a member of management. I'm just a wrestler. I guess this 'anyplace, any time' is just talk.”

Spoiler, “O.K. Graham, you got, but you will not like how it turns out!”

Solie, “I think we have a match. Now let's go to the ring and see the Australians in action.”

Match #1
The Australians w/Steve Rackman def. Masked Demons (5:57) Miller w/boomerang vs. Demon #2

Solie is with Jerry Brisco.

Solie, “Mr. Brisco, the big rematch with Mr. Fujinami is coming up. I know you want to regain the World Title.”

Brisco, “Yes it will Gordon. I face a tough man in Tatsumi Fujinami. He is one of the best. He beat me fair and square in New York. On the 31st, in Orlando, I'll have to be on my game. I know he'll be ready. He wants to keep the title and take back to Japan. I'm training and I'll give it my best.”

Solie, “It will be quite a night. With Brisco vs. Fujinami and Spoiler vs. Graham, the eyes of the wrestling world will be on Orlando on Halloween night.”

Match #2
Jerry Brisco def. Ric Drasin (6:02) w/figure four

Solie is with Nelson Royal and the Great Bolo.

Solie, “Mr. Royal and the Great Bolo have joined me. Mr. Royal, you and Kevin Sullivan have gone back and forth. You have won some and Sullivan has won some. Next week, you will meet him in our feature match.”

Royal, “That young punk is getting too big for his britches. It's about time to put him in his place.”

Bolo, “Nelson Royal will destroy Kevin Sullivan. We have toyed with him long enough. It's time to finish him. Listen to me you punk, Nelson Royal is a legend in professional wrestling. He's been the World Jr. Heavyweight Champion and he will be again. You are just a sawed-off punk from Boston and we are going to pack you up and send yo back. Now Gordon, next week will be glorious for me and my men, as will be what I announce later in the show.”

Solie, “Would you care to elaborate for us?”

Bolo, “Not yet.”

Bolo and Royal leave the area.

Match #3
Nelson Royal w/Great Bolo def. Coloso Colosetti (4:47) w/bulldog

Solie is with Kevin Sullivan.

Solie, “Mr. Sullivan, you heard Nelson Royal and the Great Bolo. They seem ready for next week.”

Sullivan, “I will never take anything away from Nelson Royal. He is a great wrestler and with Bolo in his corner, he is double dangerous. I have proven that I can not only wrestle him, but beat him. Next week I'll be ready. I want to make a name for myself and getting by Nelson Royal will be a big part of that. Royal, you bring all you got, because I'm ready!”

Match #4
Kevin Sullivan def. Juan Sebastian (5:31) w/victory roll

Solie is with Sir Oliver Humperdink and the Manchurians.

Solie, “Mr. Humperdink, you were out here earlier with the Southern Champion. He is just one of your Champions, the Manchurians continue to defend the Florida Tag Team Titles.”

Humperdink. “Just call me the 'Manager of Champions'. With my superior intellect and the abilities of my men, we will hold gold for as long as we like.”

Solie, “Well, Mike Graham and Steve Keirn are hot on the trail on the Champions. You have several matches signed with them all over Florida.”

Humperdink, “I know, the commission makes us wrestle those twits. They can't beat the Manchurians and every intelligent wrestling fans knows that. We will dispose of them and move on.”

Match #5
Non-Title Match
The Manchurians (Florida Tag Team Champions) w/Sir Oliver Humperdink def. Jack Armstrong and the Louisiana Assassin (5:49) Manchurian #1 w/nerve hold vs. Armstrong

Solie is seated with the Great Bolo and the Assassin.

Solie, “Mr. Bolo, Mr. Assassin, let's see what happened two weeks ago.”

We see the Assassin vs. Bob Armstrong. Referee Frenchy Bernard is knocked out. Mr. Official I comes to the ring. The Assassin argues with him and is rolled up by Bob Armstrong.

Solie, “You cannot be happy with that result.

Bolo, “Gordon, it's just part of the game. The Assassin and I are not upset.”

Solie, “That is quite surprising. You have been adamant that Mr. Official I is Dusty Rhodes and is biased against your man.”

Bolo, “The Assassin and I are professionals. We both know how tough this business really is. We want Bob Armstrong in the ring. We feel the Assassin is the rightful TV Champion and we want a chance to prove it. On October 27, there is a card at the Jai Alai Fronton in Miami Beach. We want Bob Armstrong in the ring and we want Mr. Official I as the referee.”

Solie, “What! I can't believe that you want the masked official?”

Assassin, “You heard Bolo. We want Mr. Official I. Bob Armstrong, we'll play it your way and I'll still take the belt from you.”

Solie, “That's quite a challenge. I'd imagine Bob Armstrong would agree to this. Let's see what happens. Until next week, so long from the Sunshine State.”

Great stuff going on in the Sunshine State!  Graham will put up a good fight, but Spoiler will defeat him.  Australians looked good.  Brisco, Royal, & Sullivan all had good wins.  Big surprise from Bolo.
