WWA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
ST. JOHN ARENA
Columbus, OH
10/16/77
Bell Time:  7:00

MATCH #1
Wilhelm Ruska w/Gen. Cannon  vs  Big Daddy

Surprisingly easy win for Ruska.  Big Daddy falls to an armbar submission.

WINNER:  WILHELM RUSKA @5:32

MATCH #2

Killer Karl Krupp w/Gerhardt Kaiser  vs  Big Red

Red gets some early offense, but Krupp dominates and wins with the brain claw.

WINNER:  KILLER KARL KRUPP @6:55

MATCH #3

Kenji Shibuya & Kengo Kimura w/Gen. Cannon  vs  Luis Martinez & Joe Lightfoot

Really good match as both teams trade the advantage several times.  Luis and Joe look great as they win when Luis captures Kimura in a Mexican stump puller.

WINNERS:  LUIS MARTINEZ & JOE LIGHTFOOT @13:01

MATCH #4

Geto Mongol w/"Two Ton" Harris  vs  Antonio Inoki

Harris accompanies Geto for his rematch from Sunday with Inoki.  Inoki lets his temper get the best of him as he continually tries to get at Harris for costing him the match with Geto earlier this week.  With Inoki's focus elsewhere, Geto is able to attack with several head-butts and eventually pins Inoki with Harris holding Inoki's feet during the pin.

WINNER:  GETO MONGOL @11:00

INTERMISSION

MATCH #5

Mil Mascaras  vs  Karl Von Brauner w/Kaiser

Mil looked awesome as he took on one-half of the WWA Tag Team Champions.  For every power move the German had, Mil had a counter.  Each offensive burst seemed to weaken Karl more and more.  Kaiser helped give Von Brauner his only extended advantage when he distracted Mil.  Mil soon came back and it was off to the pay window as he executed a series of flying tackles and scored with a beautiful high cross-bodyblock for the win.

WINNER:  MIL MASCARAS @12:18

MATCH #6

WWA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Dos Caras  vs  Johnny Kwango

This was the match of the night as these two Jr. Hwts. battled on and above the mat.  The edge shifted back and forth throughout the encounter and the fans were unsure whether Caras would successfully defend his Championship or not.  The Brit was strong, but Caras was victorious after reversing a small package for the pin.  The fans gave both men a standing ovation for their efforts.

WINNER:  DOS CARAS @29:57

MATCH #7

WWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Otto Wanz  vs  Kurt Von Brauner w/Gerhardt Kaiser

Champion verses Champion in this wild encounter.  Von Brauner's strategy going in was to use every illegal tactic he had to wrest the crown from the capable Austrian Champion.  Wanz was leery of getting into a brawl with the German, so he tried to out-wrestle Von Brauner.  It was inevitable that this match would deteriorate into a fight.  Wanz grew tired of being the victim of foul play and dropped the science for good old fashioned fists.  The German was surprised that Wanz was as capable as he was at fighting and soon began to lose the advantage.  Kaiser had other ideas.  He slipped Kurt a riding crop and immediately garnered the referee's attention.  This gave Kurt the opportunity to bash his opponent unmercifully.  Getting angry at the whipping, Wanz broke out like caged tiger.  He throttled Kurt with clotheslines and punches and soon went on his usual suplex spree.  This brought Karl and Krupp to ringside.  Just as Wanz felt like Poland in 1939 (surrounded by Germans), Luis Martinez and Joe Lightfoot rushed to ringside.  They thwarted the efforts of the invading German army and allowed Wanz to focus on Kurt.  Von Brauner threw a clothesline that Otto ducked and was scooped up into a powerful Samoan drop by the Champion.  Three seconds later, Otto's hand was raised in victory.  Wanz shook the hands of his allies after the bout and all three walked to the back smiling.

WINNER:  OTTO WANZ @17:51

Nice win by Martinez and Lightfoot. Has Luis found his tag partner?

Geto has a second win over Inoki. He should get some reward for these accomplishments.

Mascaras continues to roll in the WWA. Good win over a gane Von Brauner.

Caras is becoming a very formidible Junior Heavyweight champ.

Wanz is a great champion as he shines over all different kinds of competitors.

Fantastic cards every time in WWA.
