WWA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING CINCINNATI GARDENS Cincinnati, OH 10/18/77 Bell Time: 7:00 MATCH #1 Kengo Kimura vs El Sicodelico Good opening contest as these two thrill the crowd with their back and forth action. In the end, Sicodelico wins with a sunset flip. WINNER: EL SICODELICO @7:11 MATCH #2 Union Jack vs Carlos Rocha The veteran Rocha takes it to the masked Brit early. The momentum turned and Jack got the victory with the London Bridge, a fisherman's suplex and bridge. WINNER: UNION JACK @4:55 MATCH #3 Big Red vs Kurt Von Brauner w/Gerhardt Kaiser Red took the match to Kurt, but was overwhelmed by the brutal onslaught of the German. Kurt wins following a vicious knee to the back of the head from the top rope. WINNER: KURT VON BRAUNER @7:49 MATCH #4 Luis Martinez & Joe Lightfoot vs Pak Song & Mr. Ito w/Gen. Cannon Great tag action as the Asians put a beating on the fan favorites to begin the match. Song is particularly vicious in his prelude to his rematch with Abdullah this weekend. Luis & Joe, however, comeback and Ito is pinned following a double chop and roll-up by Joe. WINNERS: LUIS MARTINEZ & JOE LIGHTFOOT @13:01 INTERMISSION MATCH #5 Antonio Inoki & Mil Mascaras vs Wilhelm Ruska & Geto Mongol w/Gen. Cannon & George "Two Ton" Harris This is truly a great match. The unusual pairing of the 2 time Olympic champion and the Mongolian beast surprise the popular duo of Inoki & Mascaras. Geto attacks with an all-out assault while Ruska focuses on the arms of their opponents. Late in the match, Geto brutalizes Mascaras with headbutts and bearhugs. He tags in Ruska, who immediately locks on the armbar submission. Mil fights it, but cannot break free. Inoki has no recourse but to enter the ring and break the hold. Both wrestlers struggle to reach their corners and make the tags simultaneously. Inoki charges Geto who catches Inoki in the mid-section with a knee. Geto nails Antonio with five brutal headbutts. Inoki is out on his feet, but stumbles to his corner to make the tag. Mil, gaining a second wind, unleashes a series of flying maneuvers on both of his opponents. Inoki soon enters the fray. All four men battle while the referee tries to restore order. Harris climbs to the ring apron and as Mil is thrown into the ropes, he waffles Mascaras with one of his shoes. Mil goes down and Geto covers him for the three count. Once again, Geto has scored another impressive victory over a world-wide superstar. WINNERS: WILHELM RUSKA & GETO MONGOL @29:36 MATCH #6 WWA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Dos Caras vs Robbie Ellis This is a really good match as the veteran Ellis attempts once again to unseat Caras as Champion. Ellis begins by keeping Caras grounded with technical ground work. Caras suffers for several minutes until he reverses a whip into the ropes. Caras then goes to work in the air. Looking like a circus acrobat, Caras stuns Ellis with moves have him sucking wind. Ellis is completely awestruck when Caras delivers a perfect flying bodyblock on Ellis for the pin. WINNER: DOS CARAS @18:12 MATCH #7 WWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Otto Wanz vs Karl Von Brauner w/Gerhardt Kaiser Otto looks great as he dismantles the German with relative ease. Von Brauner never really got out of the blocks as Wanz was way more aggressive than he has been in recent defenses. Von Brauner's only bright spot came when Wanz missed a clothesline and tumbled to the arena floor. Wanz gave Kaiser a shot and re-entered the ring. Once back in the ring, Otto hits six straight versions of suplexes before finishing Karl off with the Samoan drop. Otto celebrates, but is attacked from behind by Geto Mongol. Geto uses the title belt to inflict a great amount of punishment before Martinez & Lightfoot can save the day. Outside the ring, Harris challenges Wanz to defend his title against Geto. He says that Geto has proven himself worthy recently and will be the one to end the Austrian's reign. Will Otto answer the challenge? Only time will tell. WINNER: OTTO WANZ @12:49
