NWA Stampede  Calgary, Alberta  10-19-77
Oct 19th, 2007, 5:49pm

Stampede Wrestling

Presented by the Foothills Athletic Club
Sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance

Victoria Pavilion
Calgary, AB

Friday Night, October 19th, 1977
Belltime: 7:00pm

---------------------------------------------------------

Match #1 - 1 fall, 20 minute time limit
Jacques Goulet
battles Steven Wright to a DRAW.

Match #2 - 1 fall, 20 minute time limit
The Interns w/ Dr. Ken Ramey
defeat Johnny Eagles & Tony Anthony.
Dr. Ramey's masked team infuriated not only their opponents, but the fans in attendance, as they constantly switched behind the referee's back, to make sure the fresh man was always in the ring.  The end came when Ramey distracted the referee, and one of the Interns used what appeared to be a "loaded" boot to KO Anthony, then covered him for the pinfall.

Match #3 - 1 fall, 30 minute time limit
Don Carson
defeats Bret Hart.
Hart offers his hand to the newcomer Carson to start the match, but Don slaps him hard across the face instead!  Hart immediately goes on the offensive, and gets a series of nearfalls, but Carson eventually takes over and applies a chickenwing hold, giving Carson the submission victory in his first Stampede match.

Match #4 - Best 2 out of 3 falls, 60 minute time limit
Bud & Ray Osborne
defeat Gerry & Eddie Morrow.
This was supposed to be the Hart brothers defending their International Tag Team Titles against the Osborne brothers in a rematch from last Friday night, but Bruce Hart was still unable to compete after the concussion he suffered in a sneak attack last Saturday on TV at the hands of Ray Osborne.

Fall #1: Bud Osborne goes to slam Gerry Morrow, but he manages to roll Osborne up into a small package instead, taking the first fall by pin.

Fall #2: Ray Osborne slams Gerry Morrow head-first into the ringpost late in the second fall, out of the view of the referee, then rolled him back into the ring, where he was easy pickings for Bud Osborne, who dropped a knee on him for good measure, then covered Gerry for the pinfall to even this match up at one fall apiece.

Fall #3: The Morrow brothers have the match well in hand late in the third and final fall, but the Osborne brothers turn things around, Ray uses his taped thumb as a weapon, repeatedly jabbing it into the throat of Eddie Morrow.  Morrow is in a bad way, and Ray finishes him off with a piledriver for the pinfall and that gives the Osborne brothers the victory.

Match #5 - Best 2 out of 3 falls, 60 minute time limit
Keith Franks & Jake Roberts
defeat Don Leo Jonathan & Kasavubu w/ Big Bad John.

Fall #1: Kasavubu and Jonathan double-team Franks late in the fall, and with Jake Roberts down and out on the ring apron, Franks is no match for both men, and Jonathan whips him into the ropes, then nails him with a boot right to the jaw, leading to the pinfall.

Fall #2: Franks almost gets pinned right away in the second fall, as he's still groggy, but somehow manages to fight back.  He tags Jake in, and the youngster tears right into Don Leo Jonathan!  Roberts catches Jonathan with a series of dropkicks, eventually wearing Jonathan down enough that Jake can pin him to take the second fall.

Fall #3: Jake and Franks are in control late in this deciding fall.  Franks looks like he's ready to put Kasavubu away, but Big Bad John slides something into the ring to Kasavubu, who proceeds to slug Franks with the object, then cover him.  Kasavubu gets the 3-count on Franks, but when he stands up and gets his arm raised, he drops the object!  The referee see's it, and immediately reverses his decision, disqualifying Kasavubu for using a foreign object.

Agent Sands: No. I'll shoot the cook. My car's parked out back anyway.

The Interns are always a force in whichever territory they are in. Stampede looks to be no exception. Nice debut win.

The same goes for Don Carson. The Gulf Coast star takes hom a big win over Bret Hart. That's something in Stampede.

The Osborne Brothers continue to impress in beatings The Morrows. Nice touch with the two-out-of-three falls. Always liked that.

Franks as a face is growing. I like this fight against Big Bad John's Army.

Great work with Stampede, Chito.
