1st Match: "Mid-Atlantic Television Championship"
Mr. #1 Paul Jones vs. Steve Strong
Great contest from the bell with both men gaining the advantage throughout. Jones rolls up Strong from behind for the 1,2,3!
Winner: Mr. #1 Paul Jones @13:43

2nd Match: "#1 Contenders Tag Team Gauntlet Battle Royal"
Participants: Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood, Charlie Cook and Ray Candy, Mr. X #1 & #2, Bobby Duncum and Missouri Mauler, Don Kernodle and Robert Gibson, Tiger Conway and Sam Steamboat, Masked Russian and Russian Stomper, Abe Jacobs and Jim Grabmire
First two teams to enter the ring are Don Kernodle and Robert Gibson and Bobby Duncum and Missouri Mauler. These two teams fight it out for 2 minutes and then in comes Mr. X #1 and #2! After another minute in comes Tiger Conway and Sam Steamboat to even things up! Another minute goes by and the 5th team to enter is the Masked Russian and Russian Stomper! The after a minute in comes Charlie Cook and Ray Candy. Another minute goes by and in comes Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood! After the final minute goes by the 8th and final team enters the ring Abe Jacobs and Jim Grabmire.
 
Now the elimination Battle Royal begins! The Masked Russian pushes Tiger Conway over the top eliminating Conway and Sam Steamboat. A few minutes later Charlie Cook throws the Russian Stomper over knocking he and the Masked Russian out of contention! Then Don Kernodle pushes Mr. X #2 over the top eliminating the masked team. Next, Bobby Duncum clotheslines Ray Candy over the top eliminating Candy and Cook. A few minutes later Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood both push Jim Grabmire over eliminating he and Jacobs. Robert Gibson dropkicks Missouri Mauler over the top rope eliminating he and Duncum from the match!
 
The bell rings to signal a 1 minute rest period as the final two teams are Don Kernodle and Robert Gibson vs. Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood! Now these final two teams will wrestle a regular match decided only by pinfall or submission to determine the #1 contenders for the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship! After the rest period Tommy Young calls for the bell as Kernodle and Steamboat start things off by shaking hands and then locking up! Some fantastic action from these two young teams going back and forth. In the end after some intense action, Gibson hits a bulldog on Youngblood and then tags in Kernodle who locks on the chicken wing submission! Steamboat tries for the save but Gibson hits a dropkick on him coming in as Youngblood has no choice but to submit!!! Kernodle and Gibson are the New #1 Contenders!!!

3rd Match: "Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship"
Tully Blanchard vs. Lars Anderson
Fantastic match from the start! Blanchard gives Anderson everything he has in this one proving that he is for real but after injuring his right arm during the match Lars takes full advantage working on the injured arm! In the end Anderson locks on a step over arm bar and Blanchard in alot of pain must submit!
Winner: New Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Lars Anderson @21:34

4th Match: "Special Challenge"
Andre the Giant vs. The Masked Mammoth w/Rock Hunter
These two giants do not like each other and it shows in this battle! Back and forth for most of the contest until Hunter hits Andre with a chair from behind and gets caught by the referee who immediately calls for the bell! After the bell the Mammoth delivers a big boot to Andre's face and then jumps on his chest with both feet! Hunter comes in and delivers a couple more chair shots to Andre before he and Mammoth make their way to the back!
Winner by DQ: Andre the Giant @12:46

5th Match: "NWA World Tag Team Championship"
Harley Race and Ted DiBiase vs. Ole and Gene Anderson
Great match between two great teams! Several times the Andersons looked to regain the titles but, eventually DiBiase catches Gene in a surprise small package for the 1,2,3!
Winners: Harley Race and Ted DiBiase @19:46

6th Match: "U.S. Heavyweight Championship"
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Blackjack Mulligan
These two greats take it to each other from the beginning! Alot of back and forth action with each man taking the advantage. Mulligan hits a flying elbow smash coming off the ropes and slaps on the claw in the middle of the ring! It looks as if he will put Flair out until Ole, Gene and Lars Anderson hit the ring causing a DQ in the match! All four men end up putting the boots to Blackjack until Don Kernodle, Robert Gibson and Tully Blanchard hit the ring!
Winner by DQ: Blackjack Mulligan @22:38

7th Match: "NWA World Heavyweight Championship"
Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Terry Funk
These two rivals start fighting even before the bell rings. The sold out crowd is really into this one and are solely behind Wahoo! Funk takes the advantage with some illegal tactics bending every rule he can. Wahoo comes back after Funk misses a knee drop to the head he makes it to his feet and hits a double chop to Funk's head. He then gets Funk up and delivers a side suplex. He then climbs to the second rope and comes off with a double axe handle chop to Funk's head again and covers him hooking both legs....1.....2.....3!!!! Wahoo has done it again. He has pinned Terry Funk!! Will Funk give up? Will he get another shot? Only time will tell!
Winner: Chief Wahoo McDaniel @28:56

I hoped Kernodle/ Gibson would win, but not in my wildest did I think it would be so decisive. A submission on Youngblood. WOW!
 
Nice win by Jones in the opener.
 
Congrats to Lars. Tully acquitted himself quite well.
 
I don't think I have ever seen Andre dominated that much. This Mammoth is tough.
 
Blackjack was robbed!
 
McDaniel is showing his win was no fluke.
 
Fantastic, big time card.

Fantabulous card (Fantastic just didn't do it justice).  Jones with a great win.  Gibson & Kernodle stepped it up several notches.  The Anderson clan holds the gold by hook or by crook.  Giant still can't quite handle Mammoth.  Big Chief still looking great as champ.  Great, great job!

-Don Kernodle and Robert Gibson are on the move and could take the belts
-Anderson's with alot of gold
-Flair and Andersons are set to take out anyone
-Wahoo and Funk was great
