Could someone please explain Eric Young's popularity to me? From what I've seen of the guy he should be a jobber not going over Robert Roode, being put into angle with James Storm etc.

I think he's entertaining to a certain degree. I don't understand their booking of the guy though. He goes from a childlike buffoon to main eventing the PPV replacing Scott Hall. He was introduced with one of the best promos by Samoa Joe. Then in a week he's back to being a little kid who believes in Santa Clause. Yet he's drinking all the time.
