Cannon's Army tried to establish control early, but Luis & Joe could not be held down. In the end, Lightfoot hits a big chop on Ito and follows with a small package for the win. WINNERS: LUIS MARTINEZ & JOE LIGHTFOOT @8:13 MATCH #2 WORLD'S WOMEN'S TITLE The Fabulous Moolah vs Judy Martin Moolah showed why she has been Champion for the past twenty years as she handled Martin with relative ease. Moolah slammed Martin and hit a splash for the three count. WINNER: THE ONE AND ONLY FABULOUS MOOLAH @5:55 MATCH #3 Abdullah the Butcher vs Mil Mascaras Wild bout as the Butcher fought with a purpose to destroy the popular masked man. It seemed as though the Butcher was under some sort of direction by an outside party. It was obvious that he had no intention of trying to win this bout. After about five minutes of brutality, Roddy Piper sauntered to the ring waving a fistful of cash. Mil took notice and soon realized that the Butcher was a bounty hunter for Piper. Mil immediately summoned up the strength to counter the Butcher and began to take over. Piper grabbed the house mic and reminded Mil of the feud that they've had on the west coast from years ago. Mil was distracted and Abby took over again. The Butcher dropped elbow after vicious elbow on Mil until he was nearly out cold. As Abby prepared to deliver the final, crushing blow when Piper stopped him. He told Abby to climb the ropes to deliver another elbow. Abby struggled to climb which gave Mil a chance to recover. Mil used gravity to help him slam Abby from the top rope. Mil then scaled the ropes and nailed a flying bodypress on the Butcher for the pin. After the bout, Mil challenged Piper to a match for Tuesday night in Syracuse. WINNER: MIL MASCARAS @9:41 MATCH #4 AWA WORLD JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH "Superstar" Bill Dundee vs Dos Caras Fantastic bout between two top AWA Champions. Caras dominated early, but Dundee soon battled back and took the advantage. Both men struggled back and forth with neither man gaining the upper hand. Champion and challenger traded move for move for thirty minutes at which time the bell rang signifying the end of this encounter. WINNER: NONE - 30 minute time limit draw MATCH #5 AWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Love Brothers vs The Von Brauners w/Gerhardt Kaiser Wild, wild bout here as The Germans fought like their lives were on the line. The Loves tried to out-brawl Kaiser's men to no avail. Kurt and Karl had an answer for every move that the Champions tried. Soon, it looked as though there would be new Champions at any time. The Germans double-teamed the Loves again and again. Each move weakened the Champions. After many minutes of double-teaming, Reginald finally turned the tables. While the referee's back was turned, Reginald hit Karl with one of the Title belts. He rolled Hartford on top of Karl and gained a contested pinfall. WINNERS: THE LOVE BROTHERS @39:19 INTERMISSION MATCH #6 Dick the Bruiser vs Antonio Inoki Antonio had fire in his eyes as he headed to the ring. The ring announcer couldn't even perform his job as Inoki tore into Bruiser. Bruiser battled back blow for blow. There was no wrestling in this encounter as it was an out and out pier 6 brawl. Kicks, punches, knees, and elbows were the order of the day in this one. Eventually, the two men criss-crossed and collided in the ring with both men collapsing to the canvas. From out of nowhere, Gen. Cannon led his Army to the ring. They each began taking turns assaulting Inoki for his refusal to join them. Bruiser made it to his feet. For several moments, he watched the carnage...and turned and left the ring. Midway down the aisle, Bruiser stopped. He looked over his shoulder and...in a flash, he charged back into the ring! Bruiser cleaned house on the Army and chased them off. Inoki was helped to his feet by the referee. He stared at Bruiser. Bruiser stared at him. And then...they shook hands, regaining trust and respect for each other. WINNER: NONE - No Contest @19:29 MATCH #7 WWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Otto Wanz vs Wilhelm Ruska w/Gen. Cannon Very stiff challenge for the WWA's top crown. Ruska used his judo skills to toss around Wanz. The blows and holds confused Wanz and put him on the early defensive. Otto couldn't come up with a counter. Ruska worked almost exclusively on the arm of the Champion and tried several times to apply his armbar submission. After a while, Otto positioned himself to scoop up Ruska into a side suplex. This allowed Wanz to go on a suplex spree. Ruska was rocked. Wanz hoisted him up for a Samoan Drop, but Ruska wriggled out and turned it into a sunset flip. Ruska gained a nearfall. The Dane then took over again and again attacked the arm of Otto. This time, however, he was successful in applying the armbar submission. Wanz' face was etched with pain and he was on the verge of submission. Wanz mustered enough strength to lift himself and Ruska. Wanz positioned him for the Samoan Drop. The Dane crashed in a heap to the canvas and was an easy pin victim. After the match, Wanz was in visible pain as he made his way back to the dressing room to the ovation of the thousands in attendance. WINNER: OTTO WANZ @22:22 MATCH #8 AWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Nick Bockwinkel vs Roddy Piper Classic match-up as both men were prepared for the match of their lives. Each dirty tactic was met with a another dirtier tactic. Piper seemed to enjoy the contest of who could out-rulebreak the other. Bockwinkel just wanted to eliminate another challenger to his crown. After several minutes of rulebreaking, the match settled into a mat classic as each warrior then tried to out-wrestle the other. The two traded armdrags, hip tosses, back drops, body slams, clotheslines, headlocks, and numerous other maneuvers. The men began to tire from such a frenzied pace. Both nearly gained pins on the other many times only to have his opponent kick out. Bockwinkel then grabbed the advantage when he caught Piper in a piledriver. He then applied the figure- four. Piper strained to free himself. Desperate, Piper poked Bockwinkel in the eye and the Champion released the hold. Piper then caught Nick in a swinging neckbreaker for a nearfall. Piper then lifted Bockwinkel and whipped him into the ropes. As Nick rebounded, Piper applied the sleeperhold. Nick had nowhere to go. His strength was rapidly running out. As a last ditch effort, Bockwinkel placed both feet on the top turnbuckle and propelled himself backward onto Piper. The referee made the three count without seeing Nick's feet on the ropes for leverage. Piper refused to release the hold on Nick and the Champion passed out. The referee forced Piper to wake up Bockwinkel and after he did, Piper sarcastically draped the belt over the fallen Champion. WINNER: NICK BOCKWINKEL @31:12
