AWA-CWA 11/5 & 11/7 MSC and Louisville
Nov 6th, 2007, 2:20pm

AWA-CWA
11/5/77 from the Mid-South Coliseum

1)      Tommy Gilbert defeats Big Bill Howard with a front suplex.

2)      The Medics defeat Steve Regal and Ricky Fields after the Medics pull the switch between the masked men and they catch Ricky Fields with the claw hold for the submission victory.

3)      The Scottish Giant defeats Steve Lawler with a big splash. Lawler seems to be winning fans over by sheer stupidity and childlike enthusiasm.

4)      Ron Fuller receives a mixed reaction as he defeats the muscular Don Ross. Fuller works a relatively clean contest and gets the duke after locking on the Fuller leg lock.

5)      Randy Savage, looking to rebound from his brutal brawls with Dutch Mantell, defeats Butch Malone with a nice looking flying elbow that was set up with a big running double axe handle.

6)      In a very impressive tag team effort, “Professor” Bill Ash and World Junior Heavyweight Champion “Superstar” Bill Dundee defeat the BBC duo of Jim Breaks and Marc Rocco after Ash connects with the Arkansas Whiplash on Breaks as Rocco and Dundee went at each other on the outside.

7)      The fabulous Jackie Fargo is brutalized by Derek Draper, taking the match by disqualification. The payday immediately goes to the doctors as the Fabulous one is busted open and assaulted by both Draper and his cousin, Jerry Lawler. Lawler delivers a pile driver on his former mentor and Draper locks on the cobra hold on the barely conscious Fargo, wringing the life from the legend until Southern Heavyweight Champion Ron Garvin rushes to the ring and starts pounding away on Lawler first and then taking on Draper until the Duke and the King bail out to the locker room.

8)      In a huge 6-man main event, Tojo Yamamoto, Paul DeMarco, and Sugar Bear Harris defeat Tommy Rich, Kelly Kiniski, and the Hawaiian Flash after the veteran Yamamoto is able to lock on the stomach claw onto Kelly Kiniski as he was preparing for a Canadian back breaker. The match had a great ebb and flow to it with numerous near falls. The Flash and DeMarco went after each other with fury and Harris and Rich were equally aggressive. In the end however age and trickery were able to defeat youth and enthusiasim.

AWA-CWA
11/7/77 from the Lousiville Gardens, Louisville, KY

1)      Butch Malone defeats Don Ross with a hanging vertical suplex.

2)      Tojo Yamamoto defeats Ricky Fields with a stomach claw after Fields missed a dropkick to finish off his opposition.

3)      Tommy Gilbert and Randy Savage wrestle to a 15-minute draw. Savage is much more aggressive, but the veteran Gilbert employs a hit and run strategy that almost works, as he gets a pair of near falls just before the time limit expired.

4)      Steve Lawler defeats Black Angus Campbell with a powerful bear hug, aided by the King, Jerry Lawler, ramming Campbell into the ring post to work over the back of the Scotsman.

5)      Ron Fuller gets a mixed reaction to his victory over Pat Roach. Louisville fans have seen Fuller’s actions in the past but can’t bring themselves to cheer Roach and his manager Lord Raven. Ron got the duke thanks to the patented Fuller leg lock.

6)      “Mr. Ebony” Tom Jones and George Welles defeat the Medics in a hotly contested tag team contest that sees Jones finish off Medic #2 with a swinging full nelson.

7)      Tommy Rich defeats Sugar Bear Harris with a big bulldog that set up Tommy locking on a spinning toehold for the win. Harris, accompanied by Tojo Yamamoto assaulted Rich after the match, leaving the popular wrestler bloody and bruised.

8)      The Hawaiian Flash and Paul DeMarco wrestle to a double count out in a match that saw the rules fly by the way side early on. Both the masked man and DeMarco take their match to the outside and after barely beating the count repeatedly, the battle became too intense and neither man would answer the count of 10.

9)      In a big main event, AWA Southern Tag Team Champions Dennis Condrey and Phil Hickerson defeat Tito Montez and Dutch Mantell in a highly spirited match for the Southern Tag Team titles. Dutch and Tito work hard, but you can tell the chemistry isn’t there as it was between Tito and Bobby Jaggers. In the end, Hickerson drills Montez with a big thrust kick and slams him hard to the mat to get the 1-2-3 to retain the titles.
