WWA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
THE JAFFA MOSQUE
Altoona, PA
11/8/77
Bell Time:  7:00

MATCH #1

Pak Song w/Gen. Cannon  vs  Burrhead Jones

Total domination by Song as he ended the match with a nerve hold.

WINNER:  PAK SONG @4:43

MATCH #2

Wilhelm Ruska w/Gen. Cannon  vs  Bobby Colt

Amazingly quick match as Ruska stunned Colt within a minute with the armbar submission.

WINNER:  WILHELM RUSKA @ :25

MATCH #3

WWA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Dos Caras  vs  Cien Caras

Another exciting match between these two.  Once again, the action went back and forth with no clear advantage for either man.  This match ended in another 30 minute time limit.

WINNER:  NONE - 30 minute time limit draw

MATCH #4

Mil Mascaras  vs  Killer Karl Krupp w/Gerhardt Kaiser

Krupp started the match out well with a series of illegal tactics.  Mil was down early and the TV Champion looked to dominate this match.  After several minutes, Mil finally came alive.  Mil fired up and could not be stopped.  Mil dazzled his fans and the German with his high powered offense.  In the end, Mil won with a high cross- bodyblock making him the #1 contender for the WWA TV Title.

WINNER:  MIL MASCARAS @14:12

Intermission

MATCH #5

Antonio Inoki  vs  Kenji Shibuya w/Gen. Cannon

Inoki looked fantastic as he destroyed the Army member.  Shibuya got only brief offensive moves in and Inoki won with a Japanese sleeper.  After the match, Cannon's Army again attacked Inoki, leaving him Bloody.  Once again, Bruiser made the save with a chair.  This time, Bruiser made sure he escaped a beating by swinging the chair over his head like a helicopter to keep the Army at a distance.  Bruiser helped Inoki to the back.

WINNER:  ANTONIO INOKI @11:01

MATCH #6

Non-Title Double Chain Match
The Von Brauners w/Gerhardt Kaiser  vs  Luis Martinez & Joe Lightfoot

This is the match the Champions wanted.  Joe was chained to Karl and Luis was chained to Kurt.  This brawl was not pretty.  Both teams pounded their opponents with the chains drawing buckets of blood.  This match was not about wrestling, it was about blood-letting.  The Germans looked confident early, but soon discovered that their opposition was tougher than they had thought.  The battle did not stay within the confines of the ring as the teams battled at ringside and up and down the aisles.  Once the action returned to the ring, Luis and Kurt tied each other into one turnbuckle, while Karl prepared to clothesline Joe with the chain.  Joe ducked and clocked the Champion in the head with the heavy chain, knocking him out.  Joe landed a fall away chop and hog-tied Karl with the chain for the pinfall victory.  This is the first clean win any team has scored against the Von Brauners as Champions.

WINNERS:  JOE LIGHTFOOT & LUIS MARTINEZ @19:57

MATCH #7

WWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Otto Wanz  vs  Dick the Bruiser

Unlike earlier this week, Dick was 100%.  These two greats exchanged holds early and put on one heck of a match for the fans.  Back and forth, the advantage shifted throughout this encounter.  Just when it looked like Wanz would take control, Bruiser would counter and vice versa.  Bruiser even managed to deliver a piledriver on the big Austrian.  Both men gained several near-falls.  These guys pulled out all stops.  Towards the end of the match, Wanz was able to go on one of his suplex sprees and appeared to have the Bruiser on the verge of defeat.  He lifted Bruiser for the Samoan Drop only to have Bruiser shift his weight into a crucifix pinning position.  Wanz hooked his foot on the bottom rope to stop the count at 2 1/2.  Both men regained their feet and began to battle to and fro again.  With the time limit approaching, Bruiser climbed the ropes to deliver a kneedrop.  At the last second, Wanz moved and Bruiser crashed to the mat.  Wanz took advantage of the mistake and caught Bruiser in a belly-to-back suplex.  Both men's shoulders were down and the referee made a double count.  At the count of three, Wanz lifted his shoulder to gain the pin.  Both men were exhausted and lay in the center of the ring.  Just then, Cannon's Army charged the ring and pummeled Bruiser for several seconds until Inoki cleared the ring with a garbage can.  The three heroes walked to the back bruised, battered, and exhausted.

WINNER:  OTTO WANZ @57:59

The championship matches for the WWA title have been classics every time out. This one between Bruiser and Wanz was no exception. Great stuff.

The chain match was great. This use of Lightfoot and Martinez is very entertaining.

Love that Mascaras is in line for a title against Krupp.

Caras and Caras continues to roll.

I look forward to every card and show of WWA.
