Match 1-

BOB GRIFFIN/ BULL GREGORY defeat ERICH FROELICH/ PEDRO EL GRANDE

Gregory and Griffin score the win after El Grande misses a flying body press off the top rope. Gregory sidesteps it and tags in Griffin. Griffin executes a reverse atomic drop and pins El Grande.

TIME: 7:27

Match 2-

ROGER KIRBY w/ J.C. DYKES defeats DORY DIXON.

The high flying Dixon keeps it grounded and works on the knee of Kirby. Every time the powerhouse Kirby gets in some offense, Dixon goes back to the knee. Dixon feels comfortable enough late in the match to go up top. Kirby is playing possum. He catches Dixon in the air on the flying body press attempt and hits a backbreaker. Kirby follows it up with a pile driver for the win.

TIME: 13:29

Match 3-

DENNIS HALL w/ J.C. DYKES defeats EARL MAYNARD

Hall opens up on Maynard by hitting a knee lift that looks a little low. Dykes argues with Marin about it and Hall hits a punch that is definitely low. Maynard recovers and hits a series of arm drags and works on Hall’s right shoulder. Hall is able to focus on Maynard’s back and hits a one arm backbreaker. Maynard is barely able to get his foot on the rope.

Maynard and Hall go at but Maynard uses his superior strength to wear Hall down. On a criss cross, Dykes trips Maynard. Marin does not see it. Hall drops three knees into the back of Maynard head. Marin backs Hall off so he can check on Maynard. Dykes Maynard with the loaded canteen while Hall occupies the ref. Hall covers Maynard for the pin.

TIME: 16:39

Match 4-

VICTOR RIVERA defeats ROCK RIDDLE by DQ

Rivera uses his quickness to take Riddle down to the mat early on. He works on Riddle’s ribs and lower back. He clamps on a modified camel clutch to stretch the Blond Bomber’s abdominal and back muscles.

Riddle rebounds by using the infamous money clip that he takes out from his boot. Rivera’s face ends up a crimson mask. Riddle puts the clip back in his boot and uses high impact suplexes and slams to weaken Rivera. A brainbuster and a pin is thwarted when Rivera gets his shoulder up at the last second.

Gil Hayes comes out at this point and gets Marin’s attention. Riddle, sensing that Rivera isn’t quite ready to be put away for good, goes for the money clip again. He slings Rivera into the ropes. Marin turns around just in time to see Riddle hit Rivera with the foreign object. The ref calls for the bell.

TIME: 18:35

Match 5-

KING TONGA defeats GIL HAYES

Tomas Marin begins the match by searching the boots and tights of Hayes for any extra equipment. He finds a money clip in Hayes’ boot. Marin puts it in his pocket.

Hayes tries to take Tonga off his game by strutting around the ring. He slicks his hair back and flicks his fingers at the King. Tonga goes off, sending Hayes slumping into a corner with a barrage of chops. He, then, shifts gears and starts to work on Hayes’ right knee.

To ward off Tonga, Hayes throws Tonga to the floor. He uses a camera cable to choke Tonga, almost getting the five count from Marin. Tonga poles Hayes, opening him up.
Tonga loses it, biting Hayes to further open up the cut.

Both wrestlers rally when the match gets back in the ring. Hayes manages to lock in his Indian Death Lock. Since Tonga worked on Hayes’ earlier in the match, he manages to reverse it. Hayes reverses it again and grabs the ropes for extra leverage. Victor Rivera comes out with his head bandaged. He points out that Hayes is grabbing the ropes. Marin kicks Hayes loose.

Hayes manages to pull himself up to argue with Marin. As he turns around, Tonga nails him with the savate kick. He goes in for the lateral press and pins Hayes.

WWC PUERTO RICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
HERCULES AYALA defeats PEPPER GOMEZ

This is a nice change of pace in the brutal series of matches Ayala has had recently with Victor Jovica. Both wrestlers receive the cheers of the crowd as they are introduced. Gomez and Ayala shake hands and the bell rings to start the match.

Both men work on the back of the other as the match progresses. Gomez hits a powerslam on Ayala and Hercules kicks out at two. Hercules executes a swinging neckbreaker and Gomez barely gets his foot on the ropes before the three count.

Both wrestlers fall through the ropes to the arena floor. Hercules opens the ring ropes for Gomez to re-enter. When Gomez attempts to return the favor, he goes for a high knee lift, barely after Ayala is back in. The crowd boos and tempers flare. The match becomes an all out brawl.

Late in the match, Gomez has Ayala in an abdominal stretch. Ayala manages to hip toss his way out of it. As Gomez goes in to re-apply the hold, Ayala blocks it and lifts Gomez into a fisherman’s suplex. Marin makes the three count. The crowd is on their feet and gives both men an ovation. Gomez acknowledges the crowd and points to the winning Ayala.

TIME: 24:55

Match 7-

WWC NORTH AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
CARLOS COLON/ DEAN HO defeat THE MONGOLIAN STOMPER/ INFERNO II w/ J.C. DYKES

The Mongolian Stomper comes to the ring with a chair and Marin tries to take it from him. Colon and Ho come to the ring and challenge the heels to come out to the floor and bring the fight to them. Both Inferno I and Colon are bloodied when they are poled. The match finally gets inside the ring and becomes a normal tag match.

Stomper and Inferno are able to isolate Colon in their corner. They hurt the ribs and open the cut on the forehead more. Stomper makes an error in judgment when he charges into the corner for a shoulder block. Colon ducks and Stomper knocks Inferno II to the floor. Colon forward rolls and tags in Ho.

Ho clears the ring and Stomper tags in Inferno II. Ho and Colon take out the right knee of Inferno II. Colon clamps on the figure four leg lock. Dykes jumps on the ring apron and distracts Marin. Stomper comes in and hits a series of elbows to Colon’s head. Ho comes in and takes care of Stomper. Inferno taps his boot and kicks Colon in the stomach.

Late in the match, Inferno II has Colon in tow. He motions for Stomper to come in for a clothesline. Dykes calls Stomper over for some discussion. Colon struggles. When Stomper does throw the clothesline, Colon ducks. Stomper hits Inferno II hard and the masked man is down. Stomper is screaming, as Colon throws him through the middle ropes to the floor.

Ho is tagged in and he hits a bone-jarring shoulder block from the tope rope on Inferno II. Colon kicks Stomper in the head as he tries to enter the ring. Dykes has the taste slapped out of his mouth by Colon as Ho rolls Inferno II into a small package.

I really like the team of Colon and Ho. One of my favorites, Victor Rivera, continues to do well. There are many guys on your undercard that I do not know very well, but you are piquing my interest. It should be noted that I had to look up how to spell piquing.
