TNA Women's division
Jan 11th, 2008, 4:07pm

I've got into the habit of watching TNA on a somewhat-regular basis.  While last night's show wasn't horrible overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the main event.

When is the last time we saw a women's match as the main event on a TNA or WWE television show?  When is the last time we saw a women's match that was that good?

Apparently Gail Kim was in WWE at one point, I don't remember seeing her there, but I've been impressed with what I've seen of her in TNA, and Awesome Kong is just that, awesome!  That triple-powerbomb dealy last night to win the match was great.

I'm hoping that TNA continues to take the women's division in this direction.  I'm skeptical, but I'm really hoping they do.

Chito FYI Gail held the WWE Women's Title from June to July of 2002 winning a battle royal before losing it a month later to Molly Holly

That would explain it, I didn't get a chance to watch at all in 2002.  IIRC, that was before we got cable (ahh, the life of a starving College student!).

Was she around at WrestleMania time in 2002, or did she come in afterwards?  If she was, I may have to go and check out 'Mania from that year, like I say, I've been really impressed with her in TNA, and I wouldn't mind checking her WWE stuff out.

I don't watch much, if any, of TNA, but if they are going to put Awsome Kong on TV, it's either don't watch or gouge out my own eyes. I can't look at that beast. Wrestling should be limited to the human species.

It was 2002? I coulda sworn it was more recent, time flies I guess. The Women's division is the best part of TNA, and from all accounts, Russo has absolutely nothing to do with it. Surprise. Surprise.

Ya...If only we could duct tape Russo's mouth and force him to sit on his hands for about 6-8 months, Impact might be watchable again. Nah, he'd just turn that into an angle too.  Never mind.

I think the knockouts is an incredible division!  Beautiful ladies that can REALLY work!!  Got the Victory Road PPV this weekend, solid wrestling all the way through, true Vince Russo ending.  That man has no concept of what wrestling fans want.  How does he keep a job in wrestling?!?!?  I really have my fingers crossed for TNA they have such a great roster of talent, but they keep coming up with stupid angle, instead of letting the guys wrestle!
