UFC 82: Pride of a Champion
Mar 1st, 2008, 3:42pm

I didn't see a forum for MMA, so I'll assume it goes here. If there is already a thread, or if this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. Here is the card for UFC tonight. My predictions are in bold.
*Anderson Silva (185) vs. Dan Henderson (184.5) to combine the UFC & Pride middleweight titles.
*Heath Herring (248) vs. Cheick Kongo (233.5)
*Evan Tanner (185) vs. Yushin Okami (184.5)
*Chris Wilson (169.5) vs. Jon Fitch (170)
*Alessio Sakara (185) vs. Chris Leben (185)

*Jake O'Brien (231.5) vs. Andrei Arlovski (241)
*Luigi Fiorvanti (170.5) vs. Luke Cummo (170)
*Dustin Hazelett (170) vs. Josh Koscheck (169.5)
*David Bielkheden (170) vs. Diego Sanchez (169.5)
*John Halverson (155) vs. Jorge Gurgel (154.5)

Looks like a good card. Lotsa big names in the prelims. Henderson is the last real chance for anyone to beat Silva, but I think Silva has this one pretty tight. Herring is my mortal enemy since losing a fight where he was an incredible underdog, then almost finishing, and suddenly stopping his onslaught to start on stanup. I put a bet on him, and coulda won $600. Kongo beat (a lesser) Cro Cop, so I'll go with him to KO the fucking putz.

Tanner is more of a sentimental pick. I remember right before UFC got huge, I thought he was gonna be the main man for the Middleweight division when UFC finally tapped the mainstream. But Rich Franklin moved down, and he got beat the PPV before the Ultimate Fighter preimiered. He disappeared, fought "personal demons," but is back now. Hopefully he can succed once again, he has the tools. Fitch is being setup for a Welterweight title shot and they gave him an easy opponent, so he should take this one no problem. Sakara is a good fighter, and if Leben doesn't have his head on this time, it's gonna be an easy night for Sakara. If Leben doesn't it'll be a much closer fight.

The rest are more slam dunk picks, though I admit I haven't seen a ton of the other guys, besides Jake O'Brein.

Okay, who the hell is left for Silva to destroy? Bizping?

It's time for GSP to move up in weight for a dream match with Silva!

Also time for Randy Cotoure to get over his FEAR of losing to a young no name fighter and get his a$$ back in the ring!

Oh, what the hell! Andre Arloski, not getting a title shot? Instead, they give it to the winner of Brandon Vera v. Fabrico Werdrum? Well, Arloski just beat Werdrum a few fights back, Vera just lost to Tim Sylva who lost to Nog.

Shouldn't it be maybe, Andre or Mr. Arloski who gets the title shot? One of those 2 guys Wink

And can we put Tim Sylva in there with Heath Herring? Matchmaker, please wake up so I can stay awake for some of these fights.

Light heavyweight? Wtf? I mean, what the f*ck? Forrest gets a title shot? LMAO! How about Rashad Evans? Undefeated! Hello?
