That's funny because I always buy things online from Europe, Canada, Australia..all sorts of items. Never, ever I have I paid a customs fee, nor has anyone I know. I know people in the UK and other countries in Europe, as well as Aus. pay a fee. Items I order range from $5 to $500+ ( I also buy things privately and the item descriptions are on the respective customs forms), again no fees. I've had the internet since 1995 and have been buying things online, no fees. I've been using Ebay since 1999, no fees. I have friends all over the Country, never have I heard anyone that was charged a fee, especially on something like a wrestling belt. Maybe if you bought a car or something from outside of the U.S. The site says The buyer is responsible for paying customs duties, if any. * In general, packages with a value of less than US$200 will not require any duty charges. * If multiple packages from the same location are received in the same day, the value will be summed and duties are owed if the value is over US$200. * Imported package under US$2000 entering the country through International Mail enter as Informal Entry and all paperwork and the USPS and Customs Service can handle processing. Clearly some of those rules are not enforced. Maybe if a business received multiple packages, but I've never seen or heard of a private individual having to pay anything unless like I said, it was something very large, like a motorcycle, car etc.
