L.O.D. Spikes?
May 6th, 2008, 10:33am

Didn't know where else to post. Gonna build some L.O.D. Shoulder pads and need to know where to purchase similar spikes. Or ideas about the construction. The original L.O.D. was the coolest of the 2 versions. The spikes on the second set of pads look to be styrofoam cones that you would by at a craft store and paint black. Thanks for any help.

Found another pic.

I would say wood and a laythe but that would be too heavy.

I like your idea about using craft foam, but what about using that as a template and using fiberglass sheets and resin over it. Then they would be sturdy, and you can paint and sand them to your liking.

Fiberglass over foam. Sand it down, prime it. Then use a metallic spray paint.

Hey Sasquatch,

Spikes were fairly popular back when the Road Warriors were in the Georgia/AWA/JCP areas.  I have found a website that has chromed metal spikes, try this site out...they maybe able to point you in the right direction.  http://www.imosh.com/SPIKES.htm
