NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich responded to Heyman's column with the following message to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer: "Since Paul Heyman and the truth have only a passing familiarity with one another, I always find it amusing when anyone gives his opinion on virtually any topic any copy space. It is also the height of irony that Heyman, who bankrupted one company and finds himself on the outside of the business looking in, would think he had standing to criticize any organization that is actually still in business. Seems if he, in fact, wanted to kill off he NWA, he should have tried to run it, since given his track record, that would have been a sure recipe for its death. As it is, we are still here while he trolls about for some relevance."

Heyman also wrote in his commentary on Friday: "Yesterday, a store in Atlanta named Aaron's - a pretty big name in the Southeast - offered FOUR free tickets to the event to anyone who wanted to go, and would then give a discount to anyone who brought their ticket stub into the store. I guess the NWA has given up on getting anyone to pay to see their Hall of Fame Ceremony." As late as Friday night, there were 491 tickets sold and 2,400 free tickets given out for the show that took place on Saturday.

To be honest, I'm at the point where I wish the NWA would just give it up and go away. They're like an old, beat up prostitute who stands on the corner and hopes that some John will pick her up because of how beautiful she used to be. The legacy has been tarnished enough and I don't think all these mark indy promoters are doing it any favors by keeping it going. Aside from the period where TNA made it's championship the centerpiece of their promotion, it hasn't been relevant for close to two decades and every time they all get together and make a collective effort to put on an Anniversary show, or whatever, it turns out to be a disaster.

Bob Trobich is a guy who can't take criticism either. He posted for a little while on the NWA forum when it was up and running and he and David Marquez were quick to jump on anybody who didn't sing the praises of their darling organization. Anybody who said anything negative or derogatory was allegedly a "sports entertainment" fan and it was always the same excuse over and over again: "We're still growing, so give us time. It's a work in progress." Seems like it's been that way for almost 15 years now. He also hates Heyman with a passion anyway because of what ECW did to the NWA. He can knock Paul all he wants for killing the promotion, but even if he won't admit it, he still knows that a bankrupt ECW has more value than an NWA that's still in business
