The change from Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling to NWA Pro Wresting was an effort to create more of a national appeal/recognition, rather than just a local (Mid-Atlantic states) appeal. Strictly a marketing ploy.

They changed the TV show around spring/summer of '86, but when did they stop marketing the name in newspaper clippings, posters, programs, and other material utilized for promotion? The "Jim Crockett Promotions, Inc." ads that had the JCP logo and address all had the Mid-Atlantic, Charlotte O's, and World Wide Wrestling logos on them and I think continued to be used for a little while after Turner took over.
