Joe Blanchard, AWA President?  and Eric Bisch

So I'm watching last nights AWA show on ESPN Classic (dateline: 1990) and who should greet me on my screen: Eric Bischoff!!!??!?!  ugh...  So after that initial shock wears off, he's spouting off on the AWA controversy between Paul Diamond & The Trooper(?) and The Destruction Crew (man, can Vince kill a good team, or what?  These guys were very entertaining in the AWA).  So the biggest shocker (to me... no AWA knowledge) was when Eric mentioned Joe Blanchard?  I had no idea that Joe was ever affiliated w/the AWA.
 
But Eric... he's already in the habit of injecting himself on camera as much as possible.  Both between matches (from a studio) and "live" post-match interviews.  Little bit of continuity error there with the hair, Easy-E!   I also noticed the proliferation of shilling for the AWA 1-900 hotline... a sad reminder of things yet to come...

Didn't Tully have a brief stint in the AWA around the same time his dad was prez?  
 
As for Joe, he had had a prior affiliation with the AWA when he was running Southwest. They recognized the AWA World Championship before crowning the so-called Undisputed World Champion.
