I'm far from an expert on Houston, but the promotion mainly used talent supplied by other offices. Over the years Boesch was aligned with Dallas (pre-World Class), Southwest Championship, Mid-South/UWF, and then finally the WWF. So I believe "Houston Wrestling" officially ended in '87 when Boesch retired, although I think he did return briefly in '88 to help out Jim Crockett (he appeared on TV as one of the NWA board members in the angle where Dusty Rhodes was suspended for attacking Tully Blanchard and Crockett with the baseball bat). Nick Bockwinkel actually owned part of Houston and was supposed to takeover from Boesch when he retired, but got out when Boesch partnered up with Bill Watts. Then Boesch eventually started working with the WWF after he found out Watts had sold the UWF to Crockett.
