OKTOBERFEST CONTINUES
Oct 11th, 2008, 10:14am

October 10, 1964
LEXINGTON, N.C.

A tag team doubleheader highlights professional wrestling tonight at the LEXINGTON YMCA. The first match is at 8:15.

'Irish' MIKE CLANCY and NICK KOZAK, an outstanding hero team, will go against bruisers RIP HAWK and SWEDE HANSON in one of the co-main events.

The masked terror team of THE GREAT BOLO and BOLO will meet DOUG GILBERT and JESSE JAMES in the other tag team affair.

Both tag matches are set for the best two-out-of-three falls.

Two single bouts are also on tap.

One features the return of GEORGE 'Two Ton' HARRIS, who has not wrestled in Lexington for some time, in an encounter with ANGELO MARTINELLI.

The evening opener will find ex-footballer MIKE PAIDOUSIS meeting newcomer MARIO MILANO.

October 15, 1966

The popular tag team duo of GEORGE 'Catalina' DRAKE and LUTHER LINDSAY will be in tonight's LEXINGTON YMCA wrestling affair.

The tag team matches are booked with a two-of-three falls stipulation.

Two single matches are one fall encounters.

JAN MADRID will meet DON KENT* in one match, with ANGELO MARTINELLI facing CORSICA JEAN in the 8:15 opener.

*DON KENT would later wrestle as one of THE KANGAROOS.

"10/22/1969 Charlotte, NC- Johnny Weaver & George Becker lose to Skull Murphy & Brute Bernard."

I remember this match on WBTV.

Jphnny had Brute pinned for the third and deciding fall. Skull jumped in and gave Johnny a head-butt and put Brute on top of Johnny. All this when the referee was trying to get Becker out of the ring.

George told Big Bill Ward after the match, "We're beat, but we're not going to stay beat."

This set up what I believe was a Charlotte Coliseum main event, probably for Thanksgiving.
