how are they still around?
Feb 6th, 2009, 8:54pm

Forget the pros and cons of TNA booking , the NC ppv was an empty building , the Norfolk Scope last night was empty , how do they do anything at all? The tv tapings are free ,  all the ppvs in Orlando are free so there is no box office there either. All the dvds were $5.50 for awhile at Best Buy and our local stores have all the old figures stacked to the ceiling. How does the company stay afloat??? Sting , Angle , and Foley aren't cheap!!!

To be way back in second TNA had better become more fan friendly and start kissing some butt. I went to the show in Charlottesville, VA last night and honestly I probably would not go back again. This is basically the Mick Foley "Take your picture with a Legend" tour. He grossed more taking pictures than TNA did in ticket sales.

What dissapoints me is they have some talent but they have no clue what they are doing with it. Some of the matches were okay, some of the talent works the crowd well, heels were great making fun of the locals, faces were good at building up crowd participation but the product is crap. If TNA stands for "Total Nonstop Action" then why did I have to sit there for 20 minutes for a mid card intermission?

They need to go back to meet and greets before/after the show. All of the wrestlers need to reach out to the fans and not just a select 5. Only a couple made a real effort to sign for the fans or take pictures. I know this isn't "WERSTLING" but they need to sell themselves better. Samoa "Twinkie" Joe didn't make an attempt to sign anything, no bad guy wrestlers attempted to sign anything. There was alot of cussing and flipping the bird and such as well as The Motor City Machine Guns pulling down Sonjay Dutts tights and he never attempted to even pull them up so everyone had to look as his bare a$$ for 5 minutes till the match ended, full moon not a crack shot. Great family entertainment. Plus the chant "Joe's going to kill you" sounds great coming from a group of 5 year olds. Much props to TNA.

I'm not against being edgy but don't bill yourself as "fan friendly" or "family oriented". Does Jeff Jarrett want Sonjay Dutt's bare a$$ around his daughters?

Just one man's opinion and to answer your question I have no idea how they make money but without changes I see where they are headed.

I agree with both you guys.  I was just looking at the lineup for the Against All Odds ppv, and it just looks absolutely horrible.  There's no way in the world that I want to plop down $29.95 to watch THe Dudley Boys as part of a main event.  TNA does have good young talent that can wrestle, but they mismanage it.  I think having Vince Russo on board is a big reason for some of their troubles.  They seemed to do better in 2006 when Jeff Jarrett made most of the decisions.  They try to be WWE-Lite, which they are not.  There is only one WWE, and they do soap opera better than anyone.  TNA and any other wrestling organization should not try to copy WWE.  What they should do is focus on their in-ring product and showcase the young wrestling talent.  If they did that they may not ever catch WWE in the ratings, but they would do a heck of a lot better than they do now.  At this point, TNA does not have the wrestlers with the over the top personalities that will sell products and put people in the seats with catch phrases.....but they can out-wrestle WWE.  That in my opinion should be their strategy.

My issues are that when the card for Norfolk was announced right down to the billboards in front of Wal-Mart and downtown the stars of the show were A.J. , Joe , Nash , and Angle , outside of Nash everyone should have been there of the four only Joe was. Our set up was half the arena and only floor and bleacher seats but those seats were 50% empty. Of course the day of the show all tickets dropped $10 to slap our faces for paying full price. Just like the ppv in NC where the password got you 4 tickets for free plus service charge. They are so WCW 1991 and WCW at the end it is scary. Did So Cal Val fall off the face of the earth after that horrible storyline?
Abyss = Kane
M.E.M. = N.W.O.
Fake Muta = Great Muta
Shark Boy = Stone Cold
Jay Lethal = Randy Savage
Joe = Tazz
TNA Jeff Jarrett pushed by Russo = WCW Jeff Jarrett pushed by Russo
I do like the Angle , Booker , Foley photo opps after the shows in the ring , but it is stars they got but did not create , they again are taking what WCW did ,  pushing stars from elsewhere to the moon at the expense of homegrown talent.

Hey, I liked WCW in 1991! What was that supposed to mean?

I wish they would go back to actually more wrestling less talk. The PPV in Charlotte was not good at all.
