[Breaking News] Terry Funk and Dory Funk, Jr.'s Mother Passes Away
Legends Championship Wrestling would like to extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Terry Funk and Dory Funk, Jr. on the loss of their mother, Dorothy Funk Culver.
Dorothy Funk Culver, 89, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Wayne Griffin, pastor of Second Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by grandson Adam Dirk Funk. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum.
Mrs. Culver was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Chicago. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Survivors include a sister, Eleanor Jones of Indiana; two sons, Dory Funk Jr. of Florida and Terry Funk of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Craig Methodist Retirement Center and Hospice Care of the Southwest. Their staffs and employees were tireless, supportive and comforting.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family suggests memorials be to Maverick Boys & Girls Club, 1923 S. Lincoln St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
