and I agree with you about todays talentless crap
How about Bryan Danielson and some of the other ROH wrestlers? Also notice how much WWE has held back CM Punk from displaying his talent. In ROH he was wrestling 60 minute matches with guys like Samoa Joe that were exciting. Nigel McGuiness is another talented ROH wrestler.
There are talented wrestlers today but they're either not getting a place to wrestle where they can develop that talent because the indies of today, unlike the territories of the past, don't have guys wrestling every night or even anywhere near every night. Then if by some miracle they do get a chance to develop their skills enough to start to get good, WWE doesn't let them show all their ability. They purposely hold them back so that they don't outshine guys like Batista and HHH.
TNA had potential when they started out showcasing the X-Division and tag teams but now they're just copying WWE's formula.
At this point I think the only way there can be good wrestling again is for there to be a complete downfall of WWE. If the government were to just shut WWE down entirely and make them sell off their assets - let's say if Vince and Linda were convicted of something serious. It almost happened in the early 90's. That would leave the market wide open for new, young companies with fresh ideas to operate in different areas of the country, much like the territory days.
As it is now, I much prefer watching MMA to either WWE or TNA. The UFC actually more closely resembles the early days of pro wrestling than WWE or TNA do.
