Good NWA Belt Pic
Aug 28th, 2009, 12:53am

Did anyone get a close up of the NWA Belt that was framed for the Flair/Race photos? I know it is displayed in detail in the book, but I was looking for up close photos from the weekend. E-mail them to me if you have any.

Thanks!

I was wondering about that as well.   It was very cool to have it there, but the only time I saw it was during the photo op, and we couldn't look it over then.

Was it ever on display ????

No, it wasn't on display, and they wouldn't even let us look at it after the photo op.

Guess they didn't want people pointing out KVE's initials to Ric?  Tongue

Thanks Dan!

My photo op with Race and Flair was cut off on the bottom (grrrr!!!), so I didn't even know it had an engraving below the belt with Ric's name on it. I have the whole belt thankfully, but my small complaint is that the guys doing the photography should at least know not to cut off the bottom of the framed belt. The photo is dark too, so I can't see details. I know once I get the digital file from Greg, I can fix the lighting etc. Hopefully the frame isn't cut off in my digital version of the photo.

I was lucky, mine came out good, but looking at others, it seems many have either

A. Belt in focus, people blurry
B. Blurry belt, people in focus.

I got lucky I guess as mine is a mixture of both. I was one of the first in line though.

Mine is option A, but in a way it adds to the picture.

You can tell that it is myself, Race and Flair...and the belt being in high-detail means you can pick out the quality of what is the main element of the pic.

You can have pics of Flair and Race "any day of the week", but with the original belt is waaaaaaaaaay rarer.

I was lucky too. Both the belt and Race/Flair came out perfect. Good lighting and nothing blurry. Although, I was so excited for the photo-op that I completely forgot the belt was going to be in the picture until I got the picture back. I love the fact that I am such a scatterbrain that I can surprise myself like that  Cheesy

the belt was on display in the hall way during the Flair & race Q&A, I went out and looked at it in detail and took photos.

I received the 10 Pounds of Gold Hardcover book yesterday. If you have not bought it yet, I recommend spending the extra $5 and getting the hard cover over the other. It has very very detailed photos of the belt, a great write up about the belt, etc. It even comes with a great dust jacket that the soft cover does not. My only complaint is I think the authors repeated themselves a little too much. It isn't easy writing a book, let alone one about a belt like this. So kudos to the guys who were involved.

People should have bought it, then brought it to Fanfest. It was fun getting Dick Bourne & Dave Millican to sign mine. Dave said he signed quite a lot of them.  Smiley

I was going to buy it before fanfest, but my bank accounts said no way. Glad I bought it afterward though. That book is amazing. Also glad i did not buy the soft cover version.
