A 1975 graduate of Clinton High Schoool, Mike attended Greenwood Tech for 1 year, and transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied guitar. After music school, he and his brother went to Nashville to get into the country music business, but Mike became a professional wrestler instead. Mike's love was for his girls. Mike's parents, Roy Lee Lydia, Sr. and Ruby Long Lydia of Clinton, South Carolina are both deceased. Mike is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Michelle Lydia and Brittany Elizabeth Lydia, both of Davenport, Florida, a brother, Roy Lee (Jimmy) Lydia, Jr. or Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mike's former wife and Mother of his daughters, Cyndi Stone Lydia of Davenport, and his nephews, William Dustin Lydia and Jordan Luke Lydia of Myrtle Beach.
