It was good to see Bret at first. He said it all in his first sentence on his first night back... "Well, I guess hell froze over." This whole storyline started out with loads of potential. But after the car accident 3 weeks ago and the segment this past week to set up the Bret-Vince showdown, I have to say I have little interest left. Vince and Co. dropped the ball again, in my opinion, on what could have been their biggest deal of the year. It has become just another dish to feed Vince's ever-growing, constantly-inflating ego. He has buried Bret week in and week out to the point of no return. Bret has been put in one embarassing scenario after another. The segment between the 2 of them this week was sad. Bret just stood there while Vince spat line after line. It appeared as though Bret had no idea what was even going on. A much better way to do that segment would have been for Bret to keep standing after Vince kicked his crutch away. Then Bret could have just smiled, decked Vince, and accepted the match at Mania. It could have been revealed that his "broken leg" was all a setup by Bret and Cena to "screw Vince". There's still 3 weeks left 'till Mania where Vince could have gotten some payback on Bret to hype the match even more. Where the angle stands right now, I think the WWE Universe may have largely jumped off this bandwagon. Which is a shame because just the pure emotion & reality behind "Hart vs McMahon" could have pulled off an all time Mania classic, in spite of either man's physical limitations. What do you guys think?
