Need help fom Beltfandan
May 29th, 2010, 7:39am

I was going to just private message you, but I thought any advice you have could be used by others if they ever have a similar issue. I have a UFC light heavyweight belt that I'm trying to get autographed by every LHW UFC champion (only need Liddell and Rua to complete it). Yesterday at the UFC fan expo, Tito signed my belt and decided to do it on the main plate. It dried and doesnt seem like it would easily come off, but would you maybe spray a clear coat over it to retain the signature? I don't want to lose the signature, but also dont want to mess up the belt either. Thanks for any advice.

Leave it as is.

You could remove it, but a clear coat wouldn't help, especially because of the damage it would do to the jewels on the main plate.

Thanks. I had a feeling Tito would do that based on his personality. Wants to be the best and center of attention

I think what happens alot of times is your so awestruck of certain wrestlers/fighters that you lose track of what's going on and before you know it, they sign the belt before you can tell them where and it's over.

Someone on my board had a old UFC belt signed by Chuck, Tito and Dana on each of the front 3 plates. Belt went on eBay and didn't do too well because of it.

I think if your going to get them signed (which I don't like), get it done on the back with silver or gold sharpie. Plates look bad, and front strap look bad. Back is nice.
