There are rumors now that the firing is a work. I believe this rumor is true. Notice that they said they fired "Daniel Bryan" - not his real name. Also there tons of matches where wrestlers choke their opponents with ring ropes and have a 5 count to break the hold before they get disqualified, much less, fired!
Other people are saying it's because he spit on Cena. But that can't be true because Vince spit on Bret Hart in a recent angle.
Anyway, WWE recently put in a request to trademark the phrase "The Network." If you remember, The Network was The ECW angle that Paul Heyman made up in his disgust over TNN (their network) and TNN's refusal to let them show violence and we know how Vince loves to rip off Paul Heyman ideas.
So they could be trademarking "The Network" to have the NXT guys have a manager like The Network in ECW had Cyrus. They could make an angle out of their being sick of PG rated wrestling and be using Danielson as their prime example of the type of thing they are sick of WWE doing and then have a feud between the NXT Network faction and Vince McMahon.
It would make sense that they attacked Cena because Cena is especially designed to appeal to kids and is especially popular with kids but hated by many adult fans who justifiably are sick of WWE constantly ramming Cena down our throats. No matter how much Cena is booed they keep him on the top babyface position in the company. Speaking of more mature fans, remember how Cena literally couldn't give his t-shirt away at the WWEECW PPV One Night Stand II? That was hilarious. The guy really thinks adults like him. Hell, one of the biggest reasons the NXT beatdown was so popular was because Danielson spit in Cena's face and kicked him in the head!
If I'm wrong and the firing is a shoot because Danielson was too stiff, then HHH has to say goodbye to his beloved sledgehammer - a far more dangerous weapon than a belt! LOL!
