From a report on Gerweck it sounds like Grizzly Smith has passed. He was legendary in his own right besides being the father of 3 successful wrestling stars.

Saw this on another site:
"Jake "The Snake" Roberts longtime friend Chris Yandek has released a statement on the passing of Jake's father at http://www.cyinterview.com
 
Statement below:
 
I am deeply saddened to report that legendary, professional wrestler Grizzly Smith, the father of Jake "The Snake" Roberts has passed away today. There are no further details at this time. I have known Jake Roberts for eight years. I know this is a difficult time for him and his family. I extend my deepest condolences to them. "

Saw the news on 411, and was dismayed at the negativity.  I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, and I've never been one of those who think we should pretend someone is a saint just because he died, but I also believe in showing some respect for the good things, as well as for the remaining family.
 
Seems like every day, people remind me of why I have nothing to do with most of them.

I worked with Grizzly in WCW back 1992/93 nice quiet gentleman he will
be missed by our wrestling family who worked with him,knew him as well my  
love and prayers goes out to Jake Roberts,Sam Houston (Mike Smith) and Rockin Robin for lost of their father
