I just read about it on DOI.

Apparently he's been in pretty bad shape for quite a while now.

A lot of fans hated the documentary, "Beyond The Mat", but personally, I liked it, and the scenes between Grizzy Smith and his son were pretty poignant.

My best to his family.....

Really?  Everyone fan that I know loved Beyond The Mat.  I did hear Vince McMahon didn't like it but as far as fans go I never heard anyone say anything negative about it.  I wish there were more documentaries that took wrestling seriously like that one did and had such in-depth portrayals of such different men who were all wrestlers.

My best to Grizzly Smith's family also.
