Meanwhile the sport of Mixed Martial Arts continues to grow. Pro wrestling's loss is MMA's gain. It's interesting to see how the best background for going into MMA is a strong wrestling background. Of course I mean actual wrestling such as freestyle and Greco-Roman, or having excellent collegiate wrestling credentials. It seems to me that we're seeing the sport come full circle from when pro wrestling was a shoot, to the time when it was a work but the pro wrestlers usually had a strong amateur background, to less and less emphasis on the ability to shoot, to the point where they've stopped even trying for believability in WWE and TNA now. Without believability in today's pro wrestling product, the mature fans turn more and more to watching MMA.
