---------------------------------------

Before the credits roll, we see footage of Kerry Brown hitting Jim Neidhart with Neidhart’s own football helmet during their “helmet on a pole” match last week.

BILLY RED LYONS and JACK CURRAN stand behind the MLW podium and welcome us to Brandon, Manitoba for another episode of MAPLE LEAF WRESTLING.

JACK and BILLY RED briefly discuss these subjects:

•      Still no word on a possible return date for former Canadian Champion Dino Bravo, although Dino is confident that he’ll be back soon.
•      The rivalry between Jim Neidhart and Kerry Brown has reached levels of brutality not often seen in Canada.
•      Dewey Robertson is back in Canada, he and Mark Lewin have been training hard, getting ready for their tag team match with Canadian Champion Sgt. Slaughter and Mark Lewin next Saturday night at the Montreal Forum.
•      Today’s main event will see Jim Neidhart and Kerry Brown square off again, this time in a Streetfight!

LYONS and CURRAN are joined at the podium by KERRY BROWN.

BILLY RED talks about Brown’s match last week with Jim Neidhart, where Neidhart’s football helmet was available to be used as a weapon.

Footage is shown of the “football helmet on a pole” match.  Neidhart is the first one to get his hands on the helmet, after hitting Brown with a low blow.  But as Neidhart goes to attack with the helmet, Brown returns the favour, hitting Neidhart low, and taking the helmet.  Brown pummels Neidhart with the football helmet, paying Neidhart back for several attacks over the past few weeks.

BROWN says that felt good, taking that helmet and cracking Neidhart over the head with it.  He says Jim’s put a few knots in his head with that helmet, but in the end, Neidhart was a perfect example of the old saying, what goes around comes around!

CURRAN says that Brown and Neidhart are scheduled to meet again, right here today in the main event, and this time it will be a Streetfight.  There are no rules, the match will continue until one man can’t answer the referee’s count.

BROWN says that this is the match he’s been waiting for, since the day that Neidhart turned on him, this is his opportunity to, not only prove that he’s the better man, but to put Neidhart out of wrestling, once and for all.

FRENCHY MARTIN def. NICK DECARLO.  Martin makes his television debut on Maple Leaf Wrestling, and it’s an impressive one.  He pounds DeCarlo into the mat, and nails him with a kneedrop for the pinfall.

After the match, Martin takes the mic from ring announcer Norm Kimber.

FRENCHY says he’s been watching the show for the past several weeks, and every week, he watches the Rougeau brothers come out and wrestle, he listens to Lyons and Curran call the Rougeaus the “pride of Quebec”, and it makes him sick!  Martin says HE is the pride of the Quebec, HE is the greatest wrestler to come out of Quebec, NOT the Rougeaus.  He says Ray and Jacques are a couple of snot-nosed punks, and their family is a JOKE!  He says that if either of the Rougeau brothers have the guts to get in the ring with him, he’ll make an example of them, and prove that he’s the greatest wrestler to ever come out of the province of Quebec.

JIM NELSON def. GOLDIE ROGERS.  Rogers is no slouch, and he gave Nelson a run for his money.  In the end, it was Nelson who got his hand raised after nailing Rogers with a diving headbutt for the pinfall.

LYONS and CURRAN are joined at the podium by the International Tag Team Champions JACQUES and RAYMOND ROUGEAU.

CURRAN talks about the matches that they’ve had over the past few weeks with Mr. Hito and the Great Gama.

RAYMOND says Tyler’s team is tough, but he and Jacques are tougher!  He says that these belts aren’t going anywhere!

BILLY RED then mentions Frenchy Martin, and the comments he made earlier.

JACQUES says that Frenchy is no stranger to their family, in fact, Jacques says one of his first matches as a pro was against Martin, and if he remembers correctly, Frenchy used brass knuckles to bust him up pretty good.  Jacques says he hasn’t forgot about that, about all the stitches that Frenchy put in his head, and says he would love to get his hands on Martin again.

RAYMOND says that Frenchy coming out and running down the Rougeau family doesn’t sit well with him.  He says that he’s very proud of his family and everything they’ve accomplished, and to have some pompous jerk like Martin come out and badmouth his family, that makes his blood boil!

RAY continues, that when he and his brother get ahold of Frenchy, they’re going to make him eat his words!

BILLY RED says that Maple Leaf Wrestling will finish out the Summer on a high note, as Frank Tunney has set up a huge event, to take place at Toronto’s Exhibition Stadium on Saturday, August 28.  On that card, Canadian Champion Sgt. Slaughter will challenge Harley Race for the NWA Title, and the Rougeau Brothers will defend their International Tag Team Titles against Tarzan Tyler’s duo of Mr. Hito and Great Gama Singh, in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

RAY “CRIPPLER” STEVENS def. WHIPPER WATSON JR. after the Bombs Away from the top rope.

LYONS and CURRAN are joined at the podium by RAY STEVENS and Canadian Champion SGT. SLAUGHTER.

SLAUGHTER makes his usual entrance, decked out in cammoflage and sunglasses, yelling at the nearby fans, calling them maggots, and demanding that they salute him!

BILLY RED talks about the problems that the two men have had with Mark Lewin and Dewey Robertson, and mentions that the four men will meet in a tag team match next Saturday night at the Montreal Forum.

SLAUGHTER says Dewey Robertson came back to Maple Leaf Wrestling with his feathers all ruffled, claiming that he would avenge what happened to Dino Bravo.  Slaughter says that all these Canadian maggots thought Dino Bravo was the Golden Boy, he was their hero . . . but look at where he is now, sitting at home, unable to wrestle any more!

CURRAN says that Bravo will be back soon enough.

SLAUGHTER ignores Jack’s comments, and continues talking about Dewey Robertson.  He says that putting Dino out of wrestling was even easier than he’d thought it would be, and says that Dewey doesn’t stand a chance!  He says the only way Dewey can save his career now is to leave town!

BILLY RED asks Ray Stevens about Mark Lewin, who beat Ray in the tournament final a few weeks back for the vacant Canadian TV Title.

STEVENS says that Lewin can thank that crooked referee for that.  He says that in every rematch he’s had, Lewin has always used some technicality to hang onto the title.  He says that Lewin can’t beat him clean, that much is obvious, and says that sooner or later, he’s going to get a fair shake, and when he does . . . that TV Title belt will be his!

DEWEY ROBERTSON & MARK LEWIN def. BLUE DEVIL #1 & BLUE DEVIL #2.  The masked men used every dirty trick in the book to try and gain a victory, but in the end, Dewey Robertson picked up the victory for his team when he locked one of the Blue Devils in the Figure Four Leglock.  While that was going on, Lewin locked the other masked man in a Sleeperhold.

LYONS and CURRAN are joined at the podium by Canadian TV Champion MARK LEWIN and DEWEY ROBERTSON.

BILLY RED talks about the comments made earlier by Sgt. Slaughter and Ray Stevens.

DEWEY says that it’s bad enough that Slaughter would stoop to using that powder to blind Dino Bravo, but then to come out on TV, week after week, and brag about it?  Dewey says that Dino Bravo is a close, personal friend of his, and he’s not going to let Slaughter get away with what he’s done.  He says that him and Mark are going to rid Maple Leaf Wrestling of Sgt. Slaughter.

LEWIN talks about Ray Stevens, and the comments he made earlier.  He says that Stevens has a million excuses as to why he lost the match for the Canadian TV Title, but what Ray won’t admit, is that Mark beat him fair and square.  Lewin says he’s never had to rely on technicalities to retain this belt, and he’ll get into the ring with Stevens any time, any place, and he’ll beat him every time!

CURRAN says that they will meet Stevens and Slaughter in a tag team match next Saturday night at the Montreal Forum.

DEWEY says Montreal is the perfect place for this match, it’s Dino Bravo’s hometown, and he knows that Dino will be there, to watch him and Lewin run Slaughter and Stevens right out of Maple Leaf Wrestling!

STREETFIGHT:
KERRY BROWN v. JIM NEIDHART

This match was a wild brawl, as was to be expected.  Both men came to the ring in their street clothes, and wasted no time attacking each other.  Neidhart got the upper hand with a rake of the eyes, but it was short-lived, as Brown responded with a low blow.

The match ended up out on the arena floor, where Brown repeatedly slammed Neidhart’s head into the ring apron, then scooped Neidhart up and slammed him on the floor!  Brown then rolled Neidhart into the ring, and dropped him with a piledriver.  The referee counted to three, but Neidhart was able to get back up before he reached the count of 10.

Brown stayed on the offence for the next few minutes, but couldn’t keep Neidhart down for the 10 count.  Neidhart eventually battled back, and picked up a few pinfalls as well, but Brown wouldn’t stay down either.

In the end, Brown pulled off one of his boots, whipped Neidhart into the ropes, and then clobbered Neidhart over the head with the boot!  Jim hit the mat, but Brown wasn’t done, he pulled Neidhart up, and dropped him on his head with another piledriver.  Brown covered Jim and got the 3-count.

This time, Neidhart couldn’t answer the 10-count, and Brown was declared the winner.

LYONS and CURRAN wrap things up, and talk about next week’s program.

Frenchy Martin will certainly heat things up in MLW. Brown is close to putting Neidhart right out of Toronto. Lewin and Robertson with a nice win. Great show.
