Help me understand, John. Is it that your wife won't allow a 2nd weekend for fanfest or is the New Year's Eve "party" aspect that's more troubling?
If the New Year's Eve party is an issue for anyone, I'd like to hear it (really, I'd like to hear ANY and ALL concerns anyone may have,) and if you'd skip the weekend completely because of it, or if you'd still consider coming for the Saturday (and possibly Sunday,) fanfest activities.
Some of you had previously mentioned adding a "mixer" of sorts to our fanfest schedule. I think the New Year's Eve "party" would be a 6-7 hour staggered mixture of meeting everyone, maybe a band, and then some fun stuff as we get closer to midnight. Nothing extravagant, but I want folks to enjoy the evening. I'm told everyone will want their feet in the sand at midnight to experience the fireworks on the beach.
I'm not necessarily trying to duplicate what we do in Charlotte, but hopefully add another weekend in another atmosphere, doing some new and different type things that the beachfront/resort provides the opportunity for, with the hope that this could stand a chance of becoming a regular, yearly get-together.
Again, any and all input is much appreciated. From everyone.
