Quote from Baltimore Jack on Jul 15th, 2011, 8:49pm:Those interviews weren't seen by many folks. What most folks saw was their local promotional spot where they ran down the matches "coming up in your area." Those local promotional spots were taped at a different time than the shows were taped (see the "Studio Wrestling" section on the Gateway for much discussion on this.) In the spot where those local promos would be inserted, Crockett taped live studio interviews with some of the enhancement talent to give them some experience in doing interviews. Very few markets saw these. Only the markets where there were no promotional inserts would actually see these interviews. But because they are on the original master tapes, we are getting to see them now. Some are actually pretty good, some are funny. Some are awful! But in any event, they are all kind of cool to see all these years later.
There have been a few of those shows that aired on the WWE 24/7 channel that included local promos, but have had these "hidden" mid-card talent interviews.
Yeah Jack occassionally you might get a promo for wheeling Wva or Michigan but usually the jobbers some are good some funny and some are awful. I mean if you cant cut a promo today in wrestling usually you dont get pushed or ever get to be on tv.
Promo cutting is an art all the great ones for the most part can do well. CM Punk love him or hate him. But his promo skills have made him a huge superstar along with the fact that he is a very good wrestler
