I'm sure Greg will have more to say about this and other stuff soon. If it is the last, I hate to hear it, but I can understand in a way. It has been one heck of a ride the last seven years.

The word is that 2012 is the last "NWA" Fanfest. Will this be the end of our annual wrestling themed get together? I'm not so sure. Just my opinion.

Greg had mentioned perhaps a ECW thing at some point iff all key people were involved...

I'm thinking more of a general wrestling event with all the great things we have come to expect from Fanfest. That's my hope.

Whatever Greg chooses to do, whether it's retire or run a different kind of event, I wish him nothing but the best.

For me personally, though, the old school guys are the draw.  That's a big reason I've gone to Fanfest and skipped a lot of other events.  It's nothing against anyone, there's just something missing about the newer guys for me.

I to hope it's not the last NWA FAnfest as this years was my first and it was a wonderful experience. I already have my ticket "#37" for next year and can't wait for announcements.

However, I do understand that this can be hard and Greg may be burnt out.

Some are thinking he's saying end of "NWA" fanfest maybe meaning he's gonna change the theme. Which to me is fine to. I don't go to all the other Fanfests up North or in Cali so I wouldn't complain at all. I love NWA fanfest because it's more history but in reality I'm 26 years old and most of these guys I only know about from reading or watching DVD's and highlights of them. I know many of you were around back then and it would upset you if the theme changed, I understand that to. A newer themed could make for more wrestlers, myself and others haven't met because in reality there are more of them than there are NWA legends left out there (due to age and deaths). I mean last year ya'll got to see Ted Allen and Skandar Akbar 2 weeks before there death. I'd say make it a variety with NWA legends, past WCW, WWF, WCW, TNA stars. A Bigger variety gives to everyone. I saw many 8-12 year old enjoy themselves with there dads in Atlanta but in reality those kids don't know many of them without a history lesson from Dad, Grandpa, magazines or dvds.

So if NWA Fanfest continues we will all stay happy, if it changes theme we should all be happy to as it's the only Fanfest in the South that I've seen. Other than Wrestlereunion following Wrestlemania around each year. So Atleast we'll still get one. Then if Greg calls it quits then thats cool too. He's given everyone many legendary memories all these year and many for me earlier this month. Either way only time will tell.

what will be scary is going to conventions in 20-30 years and seeing who is left from 1995-2015.

I agree with you. With the rate they are going now days. Lance Cade, Kanyon, Eddie, Benoit, Candido, Owen, Yokozuna, Umaga, Bulldog, M Awesome, Earthquake, Elizabeth, Hawk, Bobby Duncam Jr, Pillman, Test, Crash Holly were all still very young when they passed away to to various reasons. Who's Next, always run through my head after one passes away.

I'm gonna side with the guys who are thinking this is the last "NWA" Fanfest and that hopefully it will continue on simply as the "Wrestling Legends Fanfest".

The reason I think that is because the event has grown so big now that it has gone beyond the boundaries of the NWA company.

Headline guests from this year like RVD are more closely associated with ECW and WWE than NWA. Mansfield and Schultz are remembered mostly for a WWF related incident.

Popular vendor guests like Mickie James, Jerry Lawler, Raven, Matt Morgan, Vampiro, Maria, Tatanka, Finlay, etc are more recognizable from their WWE/ECW/TNA/Mexico days than any NWA connections they may have (and many do not).

So that's my guess, although it may just be wishful thinking that the Fanfest isn't gonna die!
