VERY IMPORTANT ABOUT TERRITORY BOUNDARIES
Oct 15th, 2011, 6:24pm

Here is a map of the way the territories were split up. Please make sure you look at it as it is your territory boundary. It will show you where your territory begins and ends. This is the guideline to follow.

A list of areas currently NOT being run by a promotion is as follows.

All Star Wrestling (Al Tomko)
Amarillo (Funks)
Houston Wrestling (Paul Boesh)
WWA (Dick Afflis)
Toronto (Frank Tunny)
Big Time Wrestling (Ed Farhat)
NWF (Pedro Martinez)
Any Place that is White.

I thought that PWF had some rights to promoting in Nevada. Can we clarify that?

Nevada is a different shade of green. Nevada is Mid-West territory.

I thought that AWA didn't start promoting in Las Vegas until later in the 80's.

Don't know. All I know is what the map is saying and to be realistic..how else can we gauge a realistic look at where the borders are?

Okay, I will bow out of Las Vegas. Since most of Nevada is white, am I able to promote there?

We are discussing that at the moment. Get back to ya as soon as we can. Right now it is just to show people where their borders are.

The AWA results from '81 have NWAC Midwest running the following cities from Oct.-Dec. '81
Denver
Milwaukee
Minneapolis
Chicago
Rockford, IL
Green Bay
Winnipeg
Omaha
St. Paul
Oakland - look out Johnny here I come.

PWF would be free to run Las Vegas.

Yeah.. use this map as what it is, a guideline to who is around you and about where you promote. It is not an exact city by city deal but you can see whether you are based in say Portland and want to promote in Montana. You can see you do not. It also, as stated, allows you to see who your neighbours are in regards to war cards.

between KM and genickbruch I could easily put together a list of cities, towns and possibly even venues for all of the promotions.

I usually do that for whatever promotion I am promoting. I think however, the general guideline will suffice. Thank you anyway.

Could the white areas and defunct regions be given to existing promotions or used as battlegrounds?
Shouldn't GCW be given MI and MACW be given Toronto?

What is going on with the whites and defunct areas are being discussed with the AB. Once it gets figured out, James will ring in.

Toronto is not given to MACW because it was not an MACW territory. Toronto was run by Frank Tunny and while he brought in MACW wrestlers, he also had his own, Detroit, and AWA wrestlers on his shows. It did not become anything other than a Tunny territory until '84. That was when it was sold to WWF.

And why would Georgia be given Michigan?

WWF - I'd suggest bumping the WWF up to the '83 expansion cities and keeping them there.
Los Angeles - takes care of a defunct area.
Erie
NYC
Allentown
Hamburg
Philly
Buffalo - with Buffalo, Cleveland and Toronto traditionally being one territory the WWF would get all three cities
San Jose
Uniondale
Springfield
Altoona
Scranton
Glens Falls
San Diego
Roselle
Struthers
Landover
Auburn, (AL?)
West Orange
Baltimore
St. Louis - could be moved to Chicago if WWF and St. Louis are both NWA.
White Plains
Monongahalia
New Haven

GCW
Augusta
Chattanooga
Atlanta
Macon
Huntington, WV
Rome
Columbus, OH
Charleston, WV
Dayton, OH
Gainesville, GA
Marrietta
Anniston, AL

GCW didn't run MI during the Fall/early Winter of '82 but they would get Grand Rapids and whatever other cities they ran.

Okay. I believe I need a ruling on Oakland. I know that, in real life, the AWA was running in Oakland in 1981. I saw several Battle Royal newspaper ads reprinted on the Kayefabe Memories site. In real life, Shire's promotion was out of busines by now. But, since NWAC has the PWF running the cities of Shire's promotion, I am thinking Oakland should be a PWF city. I will abide by the ruling of the AB on this one.

Seems like the territory boundaries are up for discussion a lot today.

James will have to chime in, however as it was done before on another league (this one has not had to deal with this part yet), if you ran a defunct place, you got their territory. Their full territory. Again though, James will have to chime in as president.

GCW would be given MI because the Northern expansion of '81/'82 included the Sheik's territory of MI and WV. Sheik was actually involved until he stole the purse one night - info courtesy of a great interview that Jim Lancaster did on the GCW history site. IIRC Jerry Oates and Charlie Smith were in on the interview. It was either them or Les Thatcher and Rich Tate.

As stated though.. regions are usually kept as is in order to allow new promoters to come in. For example, we give MI to MACW, yet someone joins wanting to run the Sheik's territory, or the Great Lakes area (which was done on this very board)...are we to tell them no?

Right now, the split like this is not only the easiest, but it again, allows us to put any new people in open spots, defunct or not.

Guys,

We need to settle down on this.  I would like to talk to the AB about all of this and them would like to send an email out and get everyones opinon on this.  Lets not put the horse in front of the cart on this.

I love the fact that we are getting action on the board and the fact that folks care.  We have always needed rules up on the board and that is one of my goals before the end of the year.

I know that we are going into a space of history where the WWF started doing National shows.  We need to take care of that in our little world.  I would like to get a plan and run it by everyone here because honestly this place isn't anything without you, the bookers and the folks who read the cards.

IF we do anything and it is a BIG IF it would have to be at the start of the year so please go about your regular business and we will keep you updated.

Thank you again.

James

When I ran Portland I ran in Idhao. did a tourney in Boise and no one said a word.  If Idhao goes to Stampede, no problem.

I want PWF to keep Oakland for the time being, at least until the end of the year.

The AWA can run Denver and Winipeg.

I thought that MACW only ran Carolinas and Virgina at this time, if no one is running in West Va, I would love too.

I know that this is a transitonal time for everyone.  Stick with what you are doing.  As has been said I love that everyone cares and I will always try to do what is best for everyone.

I've got a  show scheduled in Houston on Halloween night. I know that Fritz supplied talent to Boesch for awhile as did Blanchard and Watts.
