Sting

A number of years ago Sting did a photo op in face paint but I wasn't at the fest.   Any chance of getting him again?
Looking forward to FF

I  agree,  he  was  at  fanfest  two  years  ago  and  he  was  a  super  nice  guy  and  all  dressed  out  and  facepaint.  I  was  lucky  enough  to  see  him  that  year  but  would  love  to  meet  him  again.  he  is  definatly  a  huge  star  in  our  sport.   I  think  a  stinger  and  flair  photo  opp  would  be  pretty  awesome.   well  if  he  is  there  great  ,  but  if  not  then  rest  asure  mr  price  will  have  a  great  lineup.  he  has  made  fanfest  better  every  year.   cant  thank  him  enough  for  all  he  and  vendors  have  done!

I'd like to see him at Fanfest again since he has had a ton of new merchandise since then. I would like to see him done like roddy piper was this past year in atlanta where you can purchase as many additional autigraphs as you want for $20 apiece.

I wasn't able to make it that year. So Sting being there would be awesome. He is my favorite of all time. SO Please someone bring the Stinger in. I'd definitley spend $100 on him if not more.

not to crush anyone's hopes, and i could be totally wrong, but the vendors that brought him in a few years ago, i dont think he wound up doing the business they were hoping for...and he supposedly carries a very high fee...not to mention he has since done some signings at the tna fanfests (and some of the bigger spenders have finished with him)...i doubt youd see him at fanfest again...

It was a shot in the dark...all good. I figure hed be a huge longshot seeing he was there not long ago and the fee a talent of his caliber would warrant...I have no clue of the figure but I'm guessing It's rather high

I would love to find out how much it cost to bring in certain wrestlers?  I've always been curious.  Today, I saw that John Morrison charges $5000/appearance.  I wonder if this is standard fee?

i find it rather discouraging that sting personally charges so much. i hear that hes a pretty religious fellow w/strong christian/moral values, so u would think it wouldnt be all about the money. especially at this point in his life. i mean the dudes gotta be ballin by now! not sure why hes gotta charge an arm & a leg.........PLUS money! lol

When you get everything Greg gives you for under 200.00 it is tough to justify 100.00 on a single talent  and that is where the problem lies.

You are not wrong by any means. He does have a main event fee. We did what we had to do to make the appearance work. Did we lose? No.. BUT it wasn't what we hoped for..   Sting in full gimmick is very rare. I can count on one hand the amount he has done these. once in an auto show in Kentucky and 2 for us.

The appeal is over.   the big spenders who make the signings survive have already got him. I guess the moral of the story is.. If you see a talent you want you need to make it a point to get them because you don't know if there will be a chance again.

Based on my experience I see that 5000.00 figure dropping VERY quickly if he wants bookings.
Saw the same asking fees from Carlito and Chavo once they were released and that dropped quickly.

on a side note  talent booking fees I have always believed is private information between the promoter and talent.

Do you ever watch any of those religious shows on TV in the early morning hours.

Its all about the money! Send us 1000.00 to be saved  send us 5000.00 to reserve your place in heaven.

Remember the 10% tiding  the church wants you to give.

At the end of the day wrestling is his job. He doesn't owe anyone anything! He has is fee for appearances established. You are right  he is "ballin by now". So he has no need to do these.

If nothing more, it's at least private. I don't think any of us would want our pay rates discussed in an open forum. That's not being rude; I just wanna be respectful of everyone, especially the legends.

nevermind, u obviously missed my point. the religious shows on TV are a farce (for the most part).

& no, i dont remember the '10% tiding'.  Cheesy

& from the way i see it, he owes us fans plenty. i mean, afterall....we ARE the reason hes ballin by now. soooo if he wanted to give back to the fans, then he has plenty need to do these.  Wink

This is just my personal observation. Nothing more. I've never met a wrestler that feels like he owes fans anything, or that they need to give back. There are some that enjoy being around the fans, but even those that do, I believe, don't do it because they feel they owe anyone anything.

I currently work in a restaurant and without the customers we wouldn't have business. But does that mean I should serve you for free? I enjoy some of my regular customers but if they didnt tip me 20% of their bill whats the point?

At the end of the day its a job you get paid for. and Pro wrestling was a very underpaid profession.

I've heard the same things many times. And I don't doubt their sincerity. But being appreciative and grateful doesn't translate into what you're expecting from your original post. Again, just my opinion and observation.

Most people want something for free. As far as Sting goes he had many good years in WCW and hasn't gone the route of others as far as $. I know where most of his rasslin' money nowadays goes , it's really no secret. As far as this big secret of fees , come on , get real there is no secret. There are sites out there with listing to get people (ie. , Morrison , Flair , Warrior) if you are serious and want to book people then they are going to email you all the needs as far as trans and pay and hotel stay. Come on , I and others were doing signings 10 years ago , lets not make this "The Secrets Of Pro Wrestling" here.

I would say Hogan is the last of the biggies for conventions , Warrior not so much. But guys ... once Hogan does the rounds there is NO ONE left to pull out of the hat. Flair was everywhere when he left WWE and now he is free with purchase of a TNA program at house shows. I saw a Jeff Hardy signing where you had to buy a bunch of crap to get to the level of geteting a photo opp for like $80.00 drop real quick to $20.00 for pic or auto cause' he is not at that level.

I don't recall anyone saying anything about secrets, Mike. Feel free to direct Nate to the site you write about. That may help him and others, if that kind of info is important to them. I just don't think it's appropriate to discuss that particular issue in THIS forum.

And as far as Hogan being the last big name for the conventions, I disagree. He may be one of the last old-timers to do conventions, but for true wrestling fans, there's still Austin, HBK and others.

P.S. If you're serious and want to book people, you don't do it thru a website. You're only asking to be taken.

no, thats not what im saying at all. i understand its their job....& im not saying they should do it for free. my issue is with the FORTUNE sting charges. i mean, every wrestler doesnt charge what he does (thankfully). IMO, its really not necessary for ANYONE to charge THAT much. at the end of the day, he IS still a human.....just like the rest of us.

I think in Stings case he really doesn't need the money and values his free time to the point where you can pay his fee or not...doesn't matter to him. Does he appreciate the fans? I'm sure he does. Seems like a nice guy.  But if you want him to fly half way across the country to do autographs and photos, then you will pay a hefty fee for his time. If not, he will stay home with his family. And it would take a lot of folks paying $100 each to make it worth while. Not sure there's enough casual fans left to foot that kind of bill. I don't have a problem with that. Time is money no matter who you are.
