If you come across anyone that wants to criticize our fanfest lineups for "lame, repeat guests," I encourage you to do the math with me. Atlanta had more than 40 featured guests, more than double and almost triple the number of guests you'd get at any other wrestling "convention." Yet the fanfest VIP price remains lower than any comparable event. First-time fanfest guests (9): "Outlaw" Ron Bass, Buddy Colt, "The Universal Hearthrob" Austin Idol, "Doctor D" David Schultz, Killer Tim Brooks, Leilani Kai, Teddy Long, Moondog Rex, and Ron Simmons made their first-ever fanfest appearances in Atlanta! First-ever appearances (11): Joe Pedicino, Boni Blackstone, Big Mama, Lars Anderson, Steve O, Joyce Grable, Gypsy Joe, "Continental Lover" Eddie Mansfield, Scrappy McGowan, Pat Rose and Randy Rose made their first-ever appearance at ANY wrestling-related event at our Atlanta fanfest. Killer Karl Kox and Mongolian Stomper would have been two more fresh guests, had health issues not kept them from appearing. Even if you had no interest in either of the other 21 "repeat" featured guests (Ole Anderson, The Assassin, Mr. Wrestling II, "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, "Mr. USA" Tony Atlas, The Masked Superstar, Dory Funk Jr., Terry Funk, "Wildfire" Tommy Rich, Nick Bockwinkel, Harley Race, Judy Martin, Thunderbolt Patterson, Stan "The Lariat" Hansen, "Hands of Stone" Ron Garvin, Tully Blanchard, "The Perfect 10" Baby Doll, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff, James J. Dillon, and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka,) there were at least 20 "fresh" fanfest guests in Atlanta. And there were tons of vendor guests making their first fanfest appearances, as well: Roddy Piper, Rob Van Dam, Pampero Firpo, Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, etc. You will encounter naysayers everywhere. Just realize the venom they spew comes from some silly little personal grudge or animosity they carry inside of them. The facts, and numbers, just don't support their arguments.
